We visited from out of town with local friends. They had heard good things so we decided to go for dinner. We got there at 4:45 and waited in the bar an hour for a table to open in the patio so we could enjoy the live music. Turned out that it was the best part of the experience. We ordered Wahoo Fish dip starter and drinks, it was good. For entrees 3 of us ordered the catch of the day Tile Fish, with the veggie of the day and 1 ordered Angus Burger with Cole Slaw. After 10 -15 minutes the waitress returned and asked us to verify our entree orders, which we all repeated. I won’t go into all the details but the meal was a disaster. 1 wrong fish and sides served, no cole slaw for the burger. The other 2 fish orders came 1 at a time after another 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Correct sides never served, cole slaw never served. Took over an hour for all 4 meals to finally be served. The first fish and burger were eaten before the other 2 fish meals were even served, about 15-20 minutes apart. Waitress repeatedly apologized, assured us they were working on getting the 4th meal there, she said we would be taken care of and get a discount or free dessert or something to make up for the poor service. Finally we asked to speak to a manager, she came about 15 minutes later and offered 2 $15 gift cards for future purchase. I explained that we were from out of town and asked about some sort of discount for the meal. She said no, the 2 gift cards was all. But most frustrating was that there was no apology or acknowledgment of poor service, only defensive attitude and excuses. Neither the manager nor the waitress ever back with a bill so we finally went inside, got the check and paid it. After we left we reviewed the bill and realized it was not even correct. We understand that things go wrong, but this was one if the worst experiences any of us have ever had. And the terrible attitude of the manager has made all of us determined to never return to...
Read moreThe food is good. The service is good. The entertainment (David Goodman) was exceptional. The reason for 1* is because the owner (Jocelyn) is not very smart. I was there on a Saturday, late afternoon (4-7:30pm) and upon leaving I wanted to advise the owner of 2 problems I would want to be apprised of: There was the top of a table laying in the yard with some downed wires. (Broken from a wind storm the NIGHT BEFORE) The men’s room had no towels and no toilet paper and the was an empty garbage can with paper all over the floor.
I asked to speak with Jocelyn or Eric (owners). Jocelyn was there and I told her it was my first time there, server was great, food was good, but....if it was my place, I would want to know about the issues mentioned above.
Jocelyn immediately started making excuses: “My husband has a bad back” ...I saw several men there 6foot+ that could have easily moved the table top. She denied it. (Liar)
I told her I was just trying to help her out and make the place better. If you want to be a high end restaurant, it has to look like it, not like a yard sale in the ghetto.
Jocelyn was dismissive and continue to blame her husband’s bad back, as if he was the only man there....he wasn’t even there.
She never got around to addressing the men’s room issues
Like I said...the food was good, but when you try to dismiss valid input from a customer who just spent a lot of time and money there...it’s not a place I would recommend.
The OWNER, Jocelyn should have said “thank you for bringing this to my attention. I’ll take care of it immediately. “ Unfortunately, that was beyond her pay grade.
I am just beginning to rail against the horrendous customer service and attitude of the ownership of this establishment. STAY AWAY. There are plenty of great restaurants in Stuart where you can enjoy your evening, without dealing with childish and dismissive...
Read more3 Star for the food for inconsistency. The food was good, but the cooks are not following recipes. Winging recipes doesn’t and will never work in any restaurant.
4 Start for the Servers as it could have been a 5 Start service if they would have catch the oysters and clams done carelessly and destroyed.
This place can do wonders is management is properly train on training kitchen employees. We were at the restaurant for 3 hours more then once and saw so many disappointed customers it was amazing.
My background comes from being a French Chef for 20 years. We came to this restaurant many time to only see how consistency as no value. We ordered the exact same 5 items multiple times and never was it serve the same way. How it comes out of the kitchen without the expediter verifying the quality before sending to customer is beyond my understanding. Being busy is never an excuse period.
Oyster have to be handled with care, ours were not. There were a lots of shells shards, the whole dozen was destroyed as we couldn’t fine any whole oysters and none had the oyster juice in the shell which the juice is the most important part of the taste. The shuck clams were as bad as our oysters. We were sitting where we could see the guy shucking the oysters and clams, and he was paying more attention to the people sitting in from of him at the bar then doing his job. You need to train someone that care and know how to shuck oysters and clams. We were never served destroyed oyster before at any restaurant. As the rule of thump, you never serve oysters that has been badly shuck. It should always be a whole oyster in their juice. Train your team properly and comment like this will never appear on...
