After checking online order options here I decided to call. After about three busy lines I got thru and placed the order. I asked which clam sauce the order taker recommended and she said a lot of people get the white so I did. This is a small place but there seemed to be a lot of workers behind the counter working efficiently. It was kind of hot in there and I wouldn't want to have eaten my dinner there as the pickup line commotion was significant. After a reasonable wait got my order and went home only to find I got "marinara" crushed tomatoes with mussels not white clam sauce. Called and I think the manager owner answered and said to give 15 minutes to get what I wanted done and to bring back the mussels. I did and found the take out line way bigger. Found the manager and she took my dinner, verified that I wanted the white clam sauce and went to the back. Don't think the order started till I got there. After about 15 min got the order and she said they of course wouldn't charge for the difference. What she didn't understand nor could I prove since they did not give me a itemized receipt is that I paid for the more expensive meal in the first place. The clam sauce was basically a soup with linguine what was well cooked but I had to fish out the clams from the 1.5 cups of broth. The lasagna was huge and ok. If you like garlic this is the place to come, in my photo of the clam shells the lower left is not clams but lots of garlic. The food was pretty pricey too.

The pizza itself was great! Until our server took what remained to box up and some of the slices slid off the tray and on to the floor which we witnessed. No one bothered to come over to the table to let us know in person. Instead they went behind the scenes and returned moments later with a few of our slices in a box, and added to older slices of pizza with a few pieces of cut sausage on top. I questioned the server about it being cooked but she appeared somewhat clueless. Needless to say we threw away the left over pizza because we had no idea where some of it came from. They literally were cold slices that were mostly likely sitting on a tray somewhere. Someone should have spoken to us. Perhaps take something off of the bill, or offer to make a smaller version of the pizza. Won't be returning.

Wasn't expecting much from this unassuming little establishment, but the food was spectacular: crispy, perfectly done calamari, satisfying salad choices, tasty marinara sauces with just the right zing, and some of the best garlic knots I've ever had. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and our server Barbara was delightful. A great gustatory experience in a little gem of an eatery! And not to forget the bite-size cannoli either, which have real chocolate chips in them and are melt-in-your-mouth yummy.

2 bad take out meals in a row here. This was the go to place for my family and where I would send everyone in the area to eat. I dont know what has happened. Last week the Chicken Parmigiana was awful, entree was tart like someone dropped a bottle of lemon juice in it and chicken was tough, overcooked and I threw it away. Today I ordered a half sausage pizza. And it was pretty pathetic as far as topping amount. Again the sauce was "off". The worst part was the young lady at the counter that her answer when I questioned the amount of topping was "That's half, you didn't order extra, you got what you paid for, you want more its extra." With an attitude. An older waitress walked over and told me they would put more on and I proceeded to tell me the other employee did not say what she said. No manager on site. I think the quality of ingredients might have gone down. I believe the owners may not be as involved as they once were. That's 2 bad meals in a row. Will not be back for a 3rd. I will also make sure my recommendations of this place to friends and family are updated. Would give Zero stars if possible. The crust was dry, sauce was again "off" and cheese appears to be of lower quality than in past. I have worked in several pizza and Italian restaurants in NYC so I have a frame of reference on what sauce should taste like and how to deal with a customer complaint. I would have left it on the counter but had hungry family at home. Several other options in the area or I can make my own sauce. I dated Italian women and have some Italians...

OBSESSED! I've been wanting to try this place for a while (I live close and every time I pass by I'm like ugh I bet that place is good).. for my birthday on 4.4 my husband and son took me to dinner there and we were beyond impressed. The pizza and garlic knots were so good- close to the real pizza and knots I get when I go visit home (nj/nyc). Eggplant parm sandwiches are 1 of my absolute favorite foods ever so I ordered that and it was SO GOOD. Like easily in the top 5 of one's I've ever had. A couple weeks later I was craving it again so my husband and i got one to split and again it was absolutely perfect. Last week I took my son to dinner and he got a personal pizza and garlic knots again and I got the eggplant parm and yet again everything was incredible. Totally confirmed that they are consistently awesome. At work this week we got to pick a place to get lunch from brought by a medical equipment rep and I (the one who never really cares where we pick to get the food from or gets too excited over food at all) immediately insisted on carmelas. Everyone was super happy with the food they ordered and I yet again got a perfect sandwich. Also in restaurant, their waitstaff is really great too. If i could afford it? It'd eat there every day lol only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars was bc the hot Italian sub my husband got on my birthday was a bit disappointing and lacked a good amount of meat cheese etc. I can't wait to try other things on their menu that look great too- if ever can resist ordering the delicious...

We've been going here for over 10 years and always had a great meal. Not anymore! Went with the family and wow, what a disappointment!! Two of us ordered, what used to be our favorite meal there Chicken Parmesan, the other ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs.

First ordered a side Caesar salad. $10! Nothing special and when meals used to come with a salad now cost as much as eating lunch out.

They used to serve a side of garlic roll for the table and the dinners...now they stick two on your plate..fine if they weren't burnt.

The chicken parmesan was small had a lot of fat in the one, and the sauce, was not the same as the past, it was bland, no seasoning..like if you pour can of tomato puree over it.

The pasta was cooked fine but, and here is the best part they actually dumped at least a cup of water or maybe tomato watery sauce on each dinner.. literally a bowl of watered sauce...then they proceeded to place the burnt garlic rolls right into the watery sauce, at least that helped to soak up a 1/4 cup of watery sauce.

Physically had to get up to get napkins and a plate off their service hutch, to dump the water out of the pasta, after the waitress walked by 3 x and I tried to get her attention.

Suggestions to the owners and anyone who wants to eat great and I mean excellent chicken parmesan. Go to City Diner it's 17.99, comes with an excellent mixed green salad, great tasting sauce and enough chicken for 2 meals. Save the $22.00 + the $10.00 and 2 burnt soggy wet garlic rolls. So sad we...
