I've been a customer here for over 10 years, travelling from Natick. On two occasions now, they have messed up our take-out order; the first time they gave us spicy seafood salad instead of tuna salad and this last time, the "spicy tuna salad" had such a bad fishy odor and the color was whitish, not even close to what the tuna looks like and should never smell fishy!!!! Something was substituted for the tuna and we couldn't stomach the odor, so had to throw it away. When I called to let them know something wasn't right, I was given such a defensive attitude by two different people; the first was a female who asked "oh yeah, well why didn't you call as soon as you got home? After she continued to argue that there was nothing wrong with it, I asked to speak to the owner. Next, a man got on the phone and was so defensive, telling me that there's no way the order could have been wrong and no way the fish could have been bad!!!!!! Told me I should have "checked the order when I picked it up" or driven it all the way back from Natick (35 mins) so they could inspect it. Finally, he explained that the owner will not issue a refund for any reason, but after further discussion said he would agree to a one-time refund for the $24 (for two bad containers of whatever it was) but NEVER issued the refund. I had to dispute the charge via my credit card company. I could not believe how rude and uncooperative they were on the phone- such a rotten way to treat a loyal customer. It would have taken 10 seconds to fix the problem, instead they were just the biggest jerks I have ever dealt with!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN will I return as a customer and I intend to tell EVERYONE I referred to them about this awful...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed after my 10th visit to this restaurant.
I ordered a futo maki, and I received 5 pieces of KOREAN kimbab and not the Japanese futo maki. The chef doesn’t even understand what ingredients go inside a futo maki and incorrectly called a Korean traditional dish by a Japanese name. Futo maki is supposed to have the pink ground codfish, which is the key ingredient, and when I called the restaurant about this they didn’t even know what I was talking about.
I also ordered a nigiri lunch, and the rice was old and tasted stale, which is very different from what I have gotten from my past orders. Maybe they have a new chef or new staff members because their food quality has clearly gone down a lot.
This restaurant should be embarrassed about not knowing the BASICS of the dish they’re making for their customers. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. I am very disappointed and angry about my experience.
Dear restaurant, if you are going to keep selling futo maki, you better change the ingredients right as you read my review or call it Korean Kimbap on your menu. This is absolutely ridiculous and please go educate yourself....
Read moreIt used to be a restaurant with great food. Unfortunately, my visit to Sudbury Fugakyu yesterday disappointed me. I mean ... the food was edible and fresh. But how do the same names of dishes on the menu have completely different ingredients and tastes? Lobster kayaki, used to served in a shell, hot, with lobster meat, moderately spicy, with a baked cheese crust, turned into a tasteless, lukewarm mash of avocado and crab sticks, served in half an avocado rind. Instead of Spicy Seafood Salad, they brought me a shredded crab stick with mayonnaise, not even spicy. Sake Aburi was probably made from yesterday's mixture, smooth, soft and tasteless. At the same time, their price and name remained the same. When I asked about the change in the menu, the waitress mumbled something incomprehensible in bad English, and I stopped asking. Maybe the owner...
