We ordered takeout and while my girl was eating her shrimp and garlic dinner she bit into a 3 inch long very sharp metal shaving from a stainless steel pot scrubber. I do understand that these things happen rarely and im sure it was unintentionally Obviously we could not allow any of our family to continue eating and through the complete meal out. Theses pieces steel if swallowed could actually do serious damage to your digestive system or could cause even worse. So I was upset that it ruined our dinner and that potentially it could have been worse and she was lucky to have not swallowed it. The next day I went back to lavender and spoke to the manager John and told him what happened and showed him the piece of spiral shaped razor sharp piece of stainless steel and he said sorry it happened and offered me zero retribution for the dinners we had to throw out. It's not like I found a harmless hair in my food and we could continue eating. He said he would take my phone number and have to investigate the claim and it would be up to the owner to refund my money. He assured me that Tim the owner would call once he arrived at the restaurant that evening. Well Tim never followed up with that call so I gave it a week and went back to lavender and spoke to Tim in person. He admitted he was aware of the situation from John and felt he did not owe me a refund. His argument was how did he know it came from his restaurant and that he only would remake the meal that had the issue. My family has spent thousands of dollars at lavender in restaurant and home delivery having multiple family birthdays at the restaurant and Tim admitted he knew and liked our family very much. Well obviously not enough to do the right thing apparently. He has lost our future business forever and not because of the initial issue but because of how he and his rude manager handled it after...
Read moreThe place is overall OK/average...but the owner Tim is a CREEP. He used to try and creep on my ex girlfriend whenever we went in for karaoke night. She would rebuff him several times (obviously, if you see him you'd know) and he would consistently try. I didn't interfere bc her and I thought it was funny and him buying me free drinks (he thought they were for her but she didn't drink) was great!
After humiliating himself several times in his attempts, he took the hint. If it stopped there I'd not leave a review but he became very cold and rude from then on. I can't imagine what it'd be like to be so desperate and consistently rejected, so I have some pity...but his reaction to it was not only pathetic, it was unacceptable for a restaurant owner.
The food and drinks are nowhere near good enough to put up with such creepy behavior. He shot his shot by hiring her as a hostess and then fired her soon after he realized he had no shot. Just unfathomably awful, desperate, pathetic behavior from an owner and I'm pretty sure it's quite illegal. He's lucky Im only leaving a review years later instead of encouraging my ex to take legal action. I can't imagine she is the only one he has tried this with...and given his approach, I'm guessing the result is always the same.
Dine here if you want to support a creepy, desperate man who is everything wrong with mankind.
On the plus side, the laughs her and I got from this guy's sad attempts and him unknowingly buying all my drinks were great,...
Read moreTucked away in Sudbury Plaza, this Asian boîte is a gem. The interior is bright and cheerful and very modern - different than what you would often encounter in other Asian restaurants. The bar is always lively and it’s interesting because half of the bar is in one dining room. The other half of the bar is in the other dining room. Both dining rooms have great tables. Nice flat screen t.v.’s adorn the bar area . Myself and my two girlfriends ordered WHITE MAI THAIS and they were excellent . The menu not only has the usual, expected items, but other interesting fusion items as well.Lots to pick from. We had pork filled thin and crispy Pan Fried Potstickers and Boneless Spareribs to start. Both great. Then we ordered Tangerine Chicken, which was outstanding. Beautiful, crunchy chunks of all white meat tossed in this wonderful and tasty tangerine sauce. We had Beef and Broccoli. Tender chunks of beef beautifully sautéed-and we sdded snow peas. Very yummy. We had Vegetable Lo Mein - exactly perfect. our server was wonderful. Very friendly, very efficient, and then, at the end of the meal he brought over a giant Ziploc bag, full of individually wrapped chocolate treats, like Heath, Peppermint Patty, stuff like that …it was so cool. If you want really tasty Asian food that is freshly prepared, and not greasy and gloppy, go to Lavender. You can...
