I recently had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Kusina Filipino Cuisine restaurant. KFC (lol) has taken over the space previously occupied by Totoy's, a beloved local establishment known for its delicious Filipino turo-turo cuisine. The new restaurant has undergone some renovations and menu changes, which are quite noticeable. I arrived at Kusina during a busy time on a Saturday. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring an assortment of popular Filipino viands and an all-day breakfast menu. The adobo rice seemed to be particularly popular, as they unfortunately ran out of it within a few hours of opening. I sincerely hope that the new owners have taken the time to understand and preserve the dishes that were popular with the local clientele. I am grateful for the continued presence of excellent Filipino food in the area, and I extend my appreciation to the restaurant for their efforts. See you soon!

My first time taking my family to this Filipino restaurant as recommended to me by a good customer/friend Mr. J Davis. Although the restaurant was hot because their Landlord's AC failed and waiting for the repair, the Restaurant owners' good attitude, kind service, and family friendly environment with the Holy Scriptures posted and Beautiful Indoor plants overshadowed the heat. The owner placed their portable fan toward us as we dined in. What they had available was good and flavorful and all my children left no leftovers. Although eating out is not cheap anywhere nowadays, but the experience here was positive. May GOD prospers this restaurant business as the owners and family's soul prospers in life's journey.

The Philippino ' food was great, too bad that they didn't have any roasted lechon . The place was clean, I could give a 5 star but they are something they need to improve. Specifically for first commers, first-time customers. 1. Need at least a MENU. 2. Need some PRICES. We wanted to eat more than what was shown or appetizers, but we couldn't because we don't know the names of the dishes. We wanted dessert, and also without a menu, it makes it difficult to order.

Suffolk is not one of the places in the 757 that I would think of for Filipino food but Kusina is worth a visit if you are close by. The restaurant is clean and inviting. It is a turo-turo (point point) type restaurant and there is seating. We came in for just a snack but everything they had out looked fresh and delicious! Their menu changes so follow on their social medias for what they have for the day. Service was polite, friendly and helpful in letting customers know about menu items. We ordered chicken lumpias and chicken siopoa (steamed buns). The lumpias are the long skinny ones...they were fried to order...crispy and tasty. The siopao was one of the best ones I've had in a long time...ALMOST as good as my mom's. The bun to filling ratio was perfect. The filling was just the right amount of saucy asado and bonus for the slice of egg in the center! Come out to Suffolk and show Kusina some love! They are...

Kusina Filipino Cuisine is just what Suffolk, VA needed. They serve authentic Filipino dishes and they also serve street foods like fish balls, kwek kwek (deep fried battered quail eggs), and turon. They serve different specialty dishes every day along with all time favorite dishes like Adobong Pork or Chicken, Pancit, and Shanghai Eggrolls. They take orders for parties as well. If you are ever in the Harbor View area in Suffolk, be sure to stop by Kusina Filipino Cuisine. The food is really good and the owners are warm and friendly, just like your favorite Tita. They are located in the same shopping center as Food Lion on Hampton Roads Pkwy. Open Monday to Friday 10am-4pm and on Saturdays 8am-2pm (serving Filipino breakfast all day). Check out their Facebook page for...
