Twisted Tavern — Restaurant in Sugar Hill

If I could do a half star, I would! My husband and I wanted a chill and layed back place with good food and some good drinks. WRONG!! This was not the place! We were asking the waitress for recommendations from the menu, and she informed us that she was only 19, and her only comment on anything was, "It looks good." WTH? As soon as you walked in, the cigarette smoke was so thick that you could cut it with a knife! Yes, we could have left, but we wanted to eat and have some drinks. He ordered fish tacos ( it was an order of 3), and he only ate 1 because they were squishy, $8.99. I ordered a blue cheese burger, medium well and onion rings, and $11.99. I only ate half my burger because it was damn near raw. My husband ordered a draft beer, $3.60, which was probably the only good thing between the both of us then ordered a long island iced tea that tasted like they squeezed a whole lemon in it, $8.95. I ordered a mixed drink that was about 6 oz for $7.00! Our bill was cents short of $49.00!!!! Never again, and I will discourage anyone I can from going! Don’t believe the hype! Now for the pros, this is a classic tavern bar with a pool table, alcohol, and sports on the tv. As for the cons, your shoes will stick to the floor upon entering, if you have extra melanin there’s a hint of something in the air and it’s not just the cigarette smoke. PSA! If you aren’t a smoker…DO NOT wear your good clothes or get in your own vehicle after leaving this establishment. Once I simply sat outside and the smell of stale cigarettes was palpable inside my car. The smell lingers on your clothing, in your hair, and on your car seats even if you’re inside for a short amount of time. Picked up Uber orders a few times and even the bags smelled of cigarette smoke, I was praying the customers were familiar with the establishment and wouldn’t blame me. I’m sure this place has a cult following from way back, and it may be more interesting to others. So...

First time visiting was Friday night. Used to have a regular place that closed and was looking for a new place. Basically looking for a dive bar with pool tables and a good crowd. Got there around 9pm, decent crowd, people doing Karaoke and some folks shooting pool. Spent the night playing pool, met quite a few friendly people. Seemed to be a diverse age group and everyone was friendly. Drinks tasted good. Will definitely be back. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the fact that they allow smoking (I smoke as well, but would rather not have it in the building) and the service, while good was definitely kind of slow.
