I have been coming to the Eldridge Panda Garden for 30 years, and would order take out or dine-in twice a week, so you can imagine my delight when they reopened!

However, the food is not the same since the re-open. The menu looks more like the one from the HW-6 location and some of the dishes look the same, too.

First, I ordered the lunch special spicy tangy chicken. The wonton soup the came with it was completely different. The soup before had a delicate broth with Chinese cabbage and green onions and thick noodle pork dumplings. The soup I got had spinach and thin noodle dumplings, not terrible, but not great either.

The spicy tangy chicken was also different. The previous dish had small cubes of lean white meat chicken and very light sauce (almost dry) with real whole Szechuan peppers and green onions and minced garlic. The dish I was served was swimming in a thick brown sauce with no Szechuan peppers or green onions. I would not come back for this.

My lunch companion had a lunch special too and the spinach in her wonton soup tasted off. She said the fried rice tasted like it had been steamed in earthy water. She did like the chicken lo mein.

I so wanted this to be the same quality of food as before. The restaurant has only been reopened for a week, so maybe it will take time to get back into it. I’ll wait a few months before giving it...

Update 4/20/25: THEY ARE OPEN NOW, and they are open on Sundays!👍Well, after eating here on 4/20/25, it's the same as what Jerry wrote. We were excited they reopened, but the quality of food was a disappointment. I got beef & broccoli, and their beef felt like sponge and egg drop soup wasn't like it used to be. The service was excellent, but I hope they get it right with bringing back that original taste of their food or bringing back the original cook. Update: 5/26/24 - We are sad this place is shut down. It seems like it's shut down for good after the fire. Their voice recording stated they would be shut down for a couple of months, but it's been over two months. Are there any updates on this place? We hope they will come back or move to a different location. Owners, please update us. Thanks!

The food was delicious. Lemon 🍋 chicken, Mmmm, especially the sauce. Beef & broccoli 🥦 very good. Most places I have been to, their beef was spongy. Not this place. The beef was cooked just right. We are coming back to...

My wife and I ate here on tuesday night for the first time. It was around 5pm or so, walked in and chose our own table. Very nice, modern establishment. My wife had the chicken vegetable dish w/white rice, of which, she changed to brown sauce on request and I had the chicken lo mein. Both dishes were superb, and it's hard to impress the wife. The best surprise was when I asked for hot mustard to go with the pork egg rolls. If you are a fan, and or connoisseur, of hot mustard...this was the best I have ever had!! Prepared delicately in house. I wish I remember our servers name, shame on me, but he said he makes the mustard himself. Burn hit the chest, then sinus. Service was impeccable! Delicious all around meal! Will certainly be back, especially for the lunch menu offered everyday except for sunday when they are closed. We can undoubtedly understand how they've been in business for the last 30 years!! This is now our fav spot for chinese in...

Pretty standard little Chinese place in a strip center, but the food is done well. Nice lunch special. Had general tso and Hunan chicken, each of which were good. Spring roll was no good (filling bland and wrapper under-cooked), but the crab puffs are excellent. The staff is very friendly, and you could tell there were numerous regulars who seemed to receive a warm welcome. I will be back.

I'm sooooooo glad they're back open. The interior is modern and fresh with the same great tasting food (might even be better) and stellar service with great prices. Their garlic sauce has a pop this time that made me want to lick my plate clean. Fresh and generous veggies too!
