It is amazing when you get a 5-star experience as a guest at a chain restaurant. But we had the pleasure of dining at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Summerlin. The evening was an absolute delight from start to finish. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional level of attentive service provided by the staff. It is important to mention that my better half has a garlic allergy. We had just left an American cafe across the way from Maggiano’s that barely had any items for her to eat. So, you might ask, why did we go to an Italian restaurant featuring a cuisine famous for garlic? Well, we took a shot.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to make our dining experience memorable. The greeter at the front desk didn’t know if they could serve us food without garlic, but immediately dashed to the kitchen to find out. This is not typical when we present our allergy issues in many restaurants, where the reply is typically “no”, or without checking we are guaranteed there isn’t a problem. In this case, a few minutes passed and the manager came to meet us and explained what they might be able to do for us. After being seated at the comfortable booth enjoying the upbeat ratpack tunes playing in the foreground, to our surprise, Chef Alberto Bini came to our table. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu (no surprise since he is the chef) and took the time to explain each dish he could prepare from scratch for us in detail, ensuring we made the perfect selections to suit our preferences. How remarkable is it that a national chain actually has an Italian born chef, and that he might step out from a busy back of the house to guarantee a memorable evening for two people who were there for their first visit?
Our smiling server, Rafael was upbeat, accommodating, and efficient. Throughout the meal, the staff demonstrated impeccable attention to detail, seamlessly refilling our drinks, clearing plates promptly, and checking in to ensure everything was to our satisfaction without being intrusive. It was evident that they genuinely cared about our experience and went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Two managers stopped by the table to make certain our needs were met.
Moreover, what truly impressed me was the personalized touches they added to make us feel valued as guests. Whether it was remembering a conversational exchange when it was mentioned that this was my birthday (and bringing a celebratory sweet with candle), or anticipating our needs before we even had to ask, their attention to detail was truly remarkable.
Overall, the exceptional level of attention and caring at Maggiano’s elevated our dining experience to new heights. It's clear that the staff takes great pride in their work, and their dedication to providing top-notch service did not go unnoticed. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, and I look forward to returning soon to enjoy the delicious cuisine, the outstanding hospitality, and a few more minutes sharing a conversation with Chef Bini.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a serving of warmth and hospitality with...
Read moreWe love Maggianos!! One of our favorite restaurants that reminds us of family's home cooked meals. We had it for the first time when we lived in VA and were sad when we moved to PA and there wasnt one! Now in NV, this one is pretty good! Hard to believe sometimes it's a chain restaurant!! The service is always pretty good here. The food takes seems to take awhile to come out but usually worth the wait! All their pastas and appetizers are tasty. They do birthdays different here though which is disappointing. The one in VA often gives you a real dessert like cheesecake or cake whereas this place only give lemon cookies. But not a huge deal. The food here is usually prepared well and often accurate. Only once did I receive spaghetti and meat sauce when I asked for spaghetti and meatball. Their meat sauce isnt bad..it's just not my preference. We even went there for Thanksgiving. The holiday food was pretty good...but I still enjoyed the pastas and regular dishes more. The fish however was awful. It tasted chemically and I didn't finish after 2 bites or take it home. I usually hate ham..but my husband was raving about it so I gave it a taste and it was really good. The rest of the sides and apps were excellent. I always love their maggianos salad. The dressing is so flavorful. We were regulars in VA, frequenting 1 to 2 times a week and we likely will be regulars at the Summerlin location. Would recommend. Weekends and holidays, you need a reservation in advance...and patience....busy restaurants are busy for a reason. Servers and hosts are pulled in a thousand directions on busy nights but always have great customer service and serve High quality and great food.
Update. We went from maggianos regulars to not being back in 4 years. The last time we went was sometime around covid...I believe towards the end. And we ordered our normal dishes. The issue wasnt the food or the service. It was the price and the portion size. For example only: the sausage gnocchi dish...they made it just a gnocchi only dish and charged you extra for the sausage. They did similar with other items so cumulatively our bill ended up costing about 15 to 20 dollars more for all the add ons that weren't add ons ons shortly prior. On top of this the portions were much much smaller. If we weren't regulars (formerly Tysons Corner location three times a week to Summerlin) and have intimate knowledge of the menu and portions and food, likely wouldn't notice but in out case....we couldn't justify paying an extra 15 to 20 for the same exact meals as many add ons we always got AND at smaller portions. I know companies had to make changes through and after covid affects but at the noticeable penalty lf the customer is a hard pill to swallow. Maybe we will return one day to see what's...

This is my first time at this location, but I have been to several locations throughout the United States.
I made a reservation online. There were two people in my party. We got the Amore meal for two which included two side salads or one appetizer, two wines, two entrees, and two desserts for $90.
When we arrived, we were greeted. We were one of six parties that came in with a reservation at the same time. There seem to be plenty of waitstaff awaiting our arrival for dinner.
Our waiter was Jake. Jake was awesome. He made sure to answer any questions we had about menu items, as well as making suggestions. What stood out about Jake was that he took the time to find out if any of us had a food allergy. That's something that is rarely asked of customers when dining out. To take it another level of superior customer service, the chef will even come to your table and walk you through the menu to ensure that no one receives food or dessert that they are allergic to. Now, back to Jake. Jake constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything and to ensure that we had an excellent experience.
The place was dimly lit to create a quiet atmosphere. It wasn't noisy like it can get at some restaurants although there were people at tables all around us.
For the appetizer, we got Zucchini Fritte. The drinks were Pomegranate Margarita and Prosecco. The entrees were the Blackened Salmon and Shrimp Scampi. Cheesecake was the dessert we both chose. While the Pomegranate Magarita is a popular drink, it tasted like some kind of medicine. The Blackened Salmon was spicy and had a little kick to it, so if you don't care for or cannot have spicy foods, then this will not be for you. Also, the Blackened Salmon had a spinach, red peppers, onions, and what looked like jalapeños. The Shrimp Scampi was excellent and came with spaghetti noodles in a lemony sauce.
The portion size is big. We couldn't eat the entire meal and had leftovers. We took the dessert to go.
I'm not sure how often Jake works but if you have the opportunity to have him as your waiter, you won't be disappointed.
I was so impressed with Jake and the care taken with each and every guest there, I just had to let the manager know. Many times when someone asks for a manager, they think it's a complaint. I just wanted the manager to know what great care Jake and the rest of the staff took that evening.
If you like Italian food or you just want to try something different, then don't hesitate to give this Maggiano's location a try. You definitely won't be...
