La Chev 208 — Restaurant in Summerville

La Chev 208 is such a charming and unique restaurant—set inside a converted house with both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is quite limited, which makes sense given the cozy setting.

We were seated indoors right next to the open kitchen, which gave us a great view of the action. It was fun to see the team at work, and you could tell they were giving it their all. That said, it was definitely the hottest seat in the house—81 degrees inside—and as someone who is currently pregnant, it wasn’t the most comfortable experience. We were kindly offered a different table but chose to stay, thinking our food would be out shortly. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

We arrived at 7:10 PM, were seated at 7:25, and didn’t get our meals until almost 9 PM. The long wait was tough, especially given the heat, and we ended up skipping dessert because we weren’t sure how much longer we’d be there.

Despite the wait, I have to give credit where it’s due: the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. You can tell this restaurant is gaining in popularity, and the kitchen staff was working nonstop the entire time. It just seems like they may not have been fully prepared for the demand.

Overall, I would come back for the food and experience—just maybe on a slower night, and definitely not next to the kitchen...

Easter weekend, my daughter and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at La Chev 208, and it was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were wrapped in a warm, inviting atmosphere where every smile felt sincere and every detail seemed thoughtfully placed.

The menu was a treasure trove of tempting choices, each more enticing than the last. We savored the shrimp and grits and the fish and frits — both dishes prepared to perfection, each bite a delightful dance of flavor and comfort.

Yet it wasn’t just the food that made our visit extraordinary. The heart of La Chev 208 lies in its people — a team whose genuine hospitality and attention to detail transform any meal into a truly memorable experience. They seem to have mastered the art of making every guest feel like family.

La Chev 208 is a place where celebrations sparkle even brighter. They offer private rooms for special occasions, and outside, a relaxed, cheerful space often comes alive with live music and the happy sounds of children at play.

I am already dreaming of our return — and next time, I’ll be bringing the whole family to share...

My wife and I were able to have a romantic date night at Le Chev. We found the restaurant to be absolutely charming and like “new” even though it is in an older renovated home. It gave us downtown Charleston feels. The atmosphere was fantastic and we dined upstairs in on of the rooms. Our server Devon was fantastic, attentive, there when needed and not when we were in deep conversation. The food was amazing. We started with the scallop appetizer that I could have made an entire meal. It was delectable. The bread was the perfect pair. Our entrees were the salmon and filet. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly as well. We are so excited that we are continuing to get these amazing restaurants that don’t require a 30 minute drive downtown and that the pricing and portion size were far better than expected. Le Chev is a must try if you are in Summerville. We are excited to double date there next and share this gem with...
