Saw this place on TikTok and wanted to try it out! I’m coming from MD and wanted to try the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e macaron I saw ^^ Unfortunately upon stepping in, they have very limited options. Only two macaron flavors left at 1 PM, no crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e macarons. The space gets easily crowded, and people tend to completely cover the desserts by leaning on the glass (literally). So you can’t really look at the available options until you’re 10 seconds away from ordering. I figured since I was already here, I might as well try something they have to offer. We got the ube and strawberry champagne cakes. I was not impressed :( the ube was mediocre (did not taste like authentic ube, just slightly nutty with purple coloring). The strawberry champagne wasn’t half bad. The frosting was a bit too stiff and had the consistency of shortening. Very cute concepts and flavors, just subpar execution from what I experienced.

As someone who loves to support small local businesses, I'm sad to say this was my first visit and pretty certain I will not return or recommend. đŸš« Pros: Clean and aesthetically pleasing shop and beautiful food displays. Sweet and savory options and yummy food. Cons: Disorganized employees, poor customer service, poor service overall, lack of care and lack of seating. After standing in line for 15-20 minutes, an employee allowed a customer to skip ahead in line of 8 customers. When customers brought up the skipping the response was "do you want the manager?" No apologies, no accountability. Then even though I had a table, my food and drink was packaged as to go. I asked for my biscuit to be warmed up and it wasn't. Another in my group purchased a slice of cake and had to ask for a fork. It was over all just a disappointment experience.

I’ve been wanting to try this place because it’s a small business I see on FB all the time. I looked at facebook to see what the hours were and it said they closed at 6 on Saturday so we ate dinner early and rushed over. I arrived at 4:56 and I hear 1 girl tell another girl tell them we are closed. The girl looked at me and said we are closed. I said oh it said 6 on fb she said ma’am it’s Saturday and on Saturday we close at 5 ,,, I didn’t say anything we just left. I got in the car and looked online at it and yes it says 5 but on Facebook it does say 6 HOWEVER it still was not 5. So now we have marked this place off our list as I felt like the girls were a little rude and apparently won’t serve customers 3-4 minutes before closing even though all the food was still out .

I have been a patron of Swank since before the storefront even opened, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't already reviewed this establishment. I have brought coworkers, friends, and family to this wonderful store. At one point I joked that I was an unofficial Swank ambassador. Why do I love it? The appearance - the interior is beautiful, modern, and the beautiful aqua color is pleasing and calming to the eye - a wonderful accent. The service - the entire staff, but Danetra and Amanda especially, work their tails off to provide everyone a wonderful experience, whether it's the food itself or the ordering or the quick response to additional requests. They are on it. The consumables - there's something I love about their embracing Hispanic flavors and incorporating them into the dishes. Horchata, Mexican hot chocolate, chorizo, and budinos are items you can anticipate to encounter (as the season allows). That takes me to another topic: the seasonal menu. The fact that I can get a s'mores macaron one month and a lavender earl gray caramel macaron the next. Maybe there's a sweet potato cheesecake now, but then you may come across their lemon meringue bars a bit later. Perhaps now there's a maple cold brew, but come summer there is a passionfruit and thyme lemonade. It keeps the menu from stagnating while also letting you look forward to the return of the next season's items. And it's all absolutely delicious. Like, foot stamping and thanking God delicious. The events and pre-orders - Swank has beautiful items exclusive for holiday orders, be it Christmas macarons in little ornament balls, Thanksgiving dressing (don't get me STARTED on how wonderful the pies are), or their annual, magical Happee Birthdae Harry event. I've also purchased her celebration cakes on multiple occasions (banana pudding, strawberries and champagne, and toasted coconut and passionfruit) and they have been nothing short of amazing. I love that Danetra continues to invest in her storefront, that I've seen so many new additions and little touches over time that just add to the store's luxurious feel, and I cannot WAIT to see what the years bring. I wish this establishment nothing but the best of success because that is really what it deserves ❀ Oh and I fully intend to have them cater at my wedding...

If only the staff was as sweet as the desserts! Sky and/or Sylvia (pretty positive it was the same employee pretending to be a manager over the phone) unfortunately still no call back from the owner. As I’m sure the message was never passed along. Now my third time as a local having problems due to the same front of the house employee and or manager. First she disrespects my hard of hearing mother, by taking her question asked twice (as my mother did not hear her the first time) offensively, only to respond with a sarcastic remark making my mother upset as she had no intentions of coming off rude just hard of hearing. Then as I call to deal with the problem at hand due to being completely overcharged. The coupons again that I have yet been able to use because Every-time I come, because she states another excuse as to why I can’t utilize the coupon due to some lack on my end as a consumer, can not be used again stating I can use it on the “next purchase.” Well there will be no next purchase! I have waited all week to hear back from the owner after leaving my information with Sky/Sylvia - due to the lack of care for the company as an employee she is now making the entire company pay for her bad choices. This will be the first I’m sure the owner will have heard of this conversation or at-least in the proper context. After calling to solve a problem. I think the greatest memory to date I am left with from swank desserts, is definitely being told by the “manager” (Sky/Sylvia) to make sure to inform the owner that “I screamed at them on the phone, and treated them poorly” as she is in the process of hanging up on me the consumer! Swanks desserts yet again left me with a bitter taste- nothing...

I was on my way home from work and I saw Swank Desserts on my maps and thought I’d check it out. As soon as I walked in the smell of bleach/cleaner was so powerful it really did ruin any kind of appetite or appeal for a treat. There was a line and one girl working whom was very quiet, didn’t look at anyone, didn’t welcome anyone in, didn’t say anything along the lines of “I’ll be right with you”. The vibes gave off like an “abandoned cake shop/understaffed/in the middle of doing a deep clean”. I tried a few macaroons and was severely disappointed. The flavors of the chocolate raspberry did not complement each other at all and mostly just tasted like I ate a 1/2 cup of sugar. Maybe I just caught them on a weird day, but this was quite an underwhelming experience :(

Edit: are they remodeling? Because it gave such a sad look when you walked in, boxes everywhere /very little desserts but I’m looking at other review pictures and there’s a lovely glass case and it looks very presentable? So maybe they’re just moving things...
