Mein translates to noodles. Chow Mein translates to stir fried noodles. Chow Mein is not shredded cabbage with a cellophane bag of deep fried wonton strips. If you are going to sell a traditional dish, expect people to be disappointed and frustrated when you give them something other than that dish. There are no noodles in your Chow Mein. If I had a restaurant and you came in and ordered a steak would you be pleased if I gave you a grilled cheese and insisted that was my version of a steak? This is not a gray area, chow mein is a well known, well established, recognizable dish with the main ingredient in the title. Shame on you for allowing Americans to have incredibly lo(w) expectations and false notions about a cuisine that can be absolutely brilliant when done with integrity. I was surprised that the best tasting item was the one I was skeptical about accepting...the...
Read moreDefinitely a carry out place. Service was friendly. The food was so-so for me.. met some great people inside while waiting for my order. Since I'm not from the area I was not familiar with this place as I was just driving through. I've seen it for years, always thought I was going to stop in, this time I did. The people I talk to said it was the best in town. I come to realize Chinese food is like your grandma's apple pie. Your grandma's pie sets the bar and when you have someone else's is very tough to meet expectations. My order was good, not great. Maybe it was what I ordered. It's worth a try, maybe your grandma just makes so...
