The night was majestic with brilliant hues of midnight, navy blue and the mood raged a brilliant stain to the backdrop of a nighttime, blue sky. It was our first time Due 360. After a brief selection of tables along the outside, makeshift promenade, we were seated, waited on by Eric and made our selections. All was pretty much good. The service, red sangria and the perfect temperature of the table water. However, all of the above was drastically interrupted by the poor judgment of the final server that delivered the final part of our meal. When he placed the plates, there left a cramped mess of a plate that needed to be removed so that we could properly enjoy our meal. I asked the wait-person if he could please remove the plate, he sighted the plate with a look of pause and annoyance, with an incoherent utterances and briskly walked away to the other side of the sidewalk and hailed a female server to tend to our table. Much to our horror, we were left to wait and inconvenienced with added wait for someone to simply remove a dinner plate.
The new person arrived in a state of confusion and seemed to be at a loss? I asked for the name of the server and went on to explain. What had happened. After an apt series of appropriate apologies, the plate was removed.
I learned that the employees was is Fiore(sp) and had it not been for his poor and unacceptable service, I would recommend Due 360 with all due consideration.
His behavior was unnecessary, unwarranted and unacceptable for the basic request to simply remove a table plate? This experience left an unhappy impression. I hope that, as such, this inident will encourage Due 360 to offer that employee proper training that will help him to be positive representative of Due 360. I...
Read moreHad really high hopes for this place, but the food itself fell quite below expectations. Quite a few of the dishes we ordered had some serious shortcomings.
One example was the $18 vegetable tagliatelle pasta tapas. At that price, I was expecting handmade pasta that knocked it out of the park flavor-wise, despite it being vegetarian. The dish came out with boxed linguine, the veggies didn't receive any special treatment, and the description on the menu promised truffles which were nowhere to be found. I ended up taking the dish home and adding homemade pesto to save the pasta. I wouldn't have nearly as big of a problem with this dish if it were priced more fairly to reflect how elementary it actually was.
Other examples of where the meal fell flat were 1) the octopus dish that came out cold, 2) the burrata that was missing its advertised "tomato dust" and 3) the patatas bravas that had an overcooked boiled egg on top.
In addition to the issues related to the food itself, this restaurant charges you extra to use a credit card. In the restaurant's defense, they do have an inconspicuous sign posted here and there in the restaurant, but the fee isn't mentioned on the menu or brought up by the server prior to the start of the meal. In most cases I usually catch fine print like this, but in my opinion, the signage does a better job at hiding than making themselves known. Didn't become aware of the fee until the bill was presented to me (and the little note included with the bill explaining that there is a fee).
For much better tapas value and execution, I would recommend spending your money at a place like Xunta...
Read moreAn Italian and Argentine tapas restaurant, small shop that had first-come, first-serve seating along with some Opentable stuff online that you could reserve at. Service was top-notch, folks came back to help us pack up extras and also check on us multiple times.
Stopped in on a hot day, tried a bunch:
Pitcher of white sangria was a lovely cool sip.
Special baked oyster fondue was ok (reminded me of Oyster Rockefeller but not as flavorful); they had 3 on the plate and they noticed and had them make up a 4th for the 4th person at the table. Great service for that touch.
Papas bravos was a good fingerling potato Grilled octopus was ok Peruvian ceviche was a touch too sour for me, but others liked it
Mains, also shared: Short ribs rigatoni was good, but not as good as the one at Ferraro's that I had Seafood paella - not sure if this is a regional difference, but I'm used to having the crispy rice along the outside of the pan, crunch and savory -- the inside rice and shrimp, sausage and clams were ok, but missing the texture expected of a hot pan of paella rice
Dessert churros were solid, with dulce de leche lava cake was good, vanilla ice cream to the top they had a special fruit mix in a pastry shell - good fruit mix and the ice cream below was good - pastry was just ok, maybe needed something more like a napoleon's layers instead of being like a fried skin?
Overall great service, a mix of dishes that sometimes hit the mark and...
