Stopped in at The Office Tavern in Springfield hoping for the full experience—great food, a strong drink, and smooth service. The burger delivered big time: juicy, cooked just right, and stacked with flavor. Easily one of the better pub burgers in the area. But things slid downhill from there. I ordered an Old Fashioned and what came out looked like it had been run through a blender—ice chips instead of a proper cube, and a neon maraschino cherry that felt more sundae bar than cocktail bar. It was sweet, sloppy, and not remotely balanced. Service didn’t help much either. Staff was polite but distracted, with long waits between check-ins and a general sense of disinterest. Not rude—just indifferent. Stick any of the many beers on tap and you’ll be fine. Just don’t expect much from the bar’s cocktail game or the service. Five stars for the food and beer selection, and that’s where the magic ends.

When you are in the area, check out The Office. From the time you walk in until the time you leave, you were treated as a an old friend. The place is spotless and appetizing. There are over 40 IPAs on tap. The menu is eclectic and there is something for everyone. It’s refreshing to visit a place that truly understands keeping up with the times. Whether you are sitting at a table or the bar, you will enjoy yourself and receive excellent service and delicious fare. The libations are expertly crafted and will leave you wanting to try everything on the cocktail menu. I highly recommend The Office. God Bless Blue & Gold! God Bless America! This was my first time dining in at this location, and I must say I wasn't impressed at all. I wasn't greeted by a host like I would've if I was in Morristown. I sat a the bar cause I was alone and most of the bartenders were on their phones so it took time for anyone to notice me there. The food was good and came out in a speedy fashion, but the service sucked something bad. I think I'll continue going to Morristown, where I am greeted when I walk in and I don't have to wait long to be waited on. And the funny this is it seem as if it management around and they were still phones out, seem like no one really wanted to be at work. But that's just my opinion on the place.

I've been coming to The Office my whole life. Good food with good service and for reasonable prices. However, I haven't had the same experience when it comes to service since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I've ordered takeout from them a few times over the past few months using the DoorDash app, but I will go and pick it up myself since they offer curbside pick up. Almost each time I've called when I'm out front to pick up food, the host or hostess on the other end is curt to say the least, sometimes rude even. Tonight was the epitome of it.

I called as always, said I was picking up and it was under my fiance's name, after half a second I was told the order was not there and that I must have ordered incorrectly, even though I explained I did order from the correct location and that my order was marked as ready. Eventually, they said they saw the order, but that it was not ready. I said okay, so they asked what car I was in so they could bring it out when it was ready and hung up without a real end to the conversation. After half an hour, I called again and was told the order had been ready, so they had forgotten to bring it out to me. When an employee did bring it out, they asked if I ordered via DoorDash, which I said I did, and then they shoved the bag through the window before I had even finished saying it was mine and turned away without another word.

The food continues to be good at this restaurant, but the politeness of the staff has seemed questionable for sure over the...

If I could, I’d give a 3.5. Service: I came with my 3 kids and wife and we ordered a good amount of food because we were extremely hungry. This spot actually had some high quality service the waiter was pretty cool very attentive to drinks expediting certain foods out and kindly communicating with us. Overall 5 stars.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere was a bit loud. There was a younger crowd behind us that was a bit over the top but I think other folks were a bit more annoyed than we were. Throughout the restaurant people were overall engaged with the patrons and definitely enjoyed interactions. Overall 3 stars

Our food: We ordered the tots, fries, and wings for appetizer. I wasn’t a fan of the tots. They were made with this breading that wasn’t very appealing I actually would have preferred some crispy tots. Wings were good I got the buffalo and the sweet and spicy. My kids ordered the flatbread pizza which was really good. I ordered the kale salad which I enjoyed as well. My wife ordered the chicken tikka tacos and did not like them. We don’t often send food back but were very unimpressed. Very good presentation but the flavors didn’t mesh well. We informed the waiter that she wasn’t a fan and he was totally fine with taking it back and getting her a burger. She asked for it medium well and felt that the burger was also a bit rare but she enjoyed the flavors. Food 3

Overall 3.5: but I’d...

I regularly meet friends at the Morristown location, so I decided to have lunch with my nephew at the Summit location while he waited to catch the train to the City.

There were two tables, each with two people and another two at the bar where we decided to sit.

Bartender was pleasant, but there was no flow. Not sure if it was time for shift change or new, but she would disappear for seven or eight minutes at the most inconvenient times.

We split an order of deviled eggs, which are good. They needed a little salt and pepper, but bartender had disappeared, so we borrowed from an empty table.

My nephew ordered a sandwich, and it was good, but he said about the same as any college bar. I ordered the aged steak, which was a mistake and now rated in the top three worst steaks I have ordered anywhere. I added a little salt and pepper, but still no good. The bartender reappeared and wanted to take the salt and pepper away. They must be very special salt and pepper shakers because I had just completed the third piece of "steak."

There was no flavor to the steak, especially when stated as aged. I had one more bite and my nephew took a bite to ensure it was the steak and not me. As expected, he confirmed. The bartender reappeared for check presentation.

An all around disappointing experience. I stopped at Fresh Market on...
