We made our reservations online. The maximum number of patrons allowed was six. Initially we had more than six but, because of the online limitations, the individual, on our end, making the reservation believed that there could not be more than six. When we arrived at the restaurant we only saw one (1) table that could accommodate more than six (6) patrons. I also called a couple of hours before our 6:15PM reservation to ask about the average dining room temperature. Someone from the restaurant did return my call, and gave me the information, but I didn’t receive it in time for two of our older female family members to adjust their wardrobes. The restaurant’s temperature was very comfortable (approximately 70 - 72 degrees F) and their wardrobes were appropriate. I mention this because it may be help to patrons and the restaurant if someone were able to answer the phone before they actually opened for service. Now! The service. The food. Both were superb. From the moment we walked in the staff greeted us with smiles. We were seated immediately and shortly thereafter our waiter (Weston) was at our table. Weston was professional in his appearance and interactions. He spoke clearly and slowly enough that it was easy to hear, and process, what he was saying. He took are drink orders, told us about that evening’s specials, and exuded a comforting demeanor. The beef short rib ravioli appetizer was amazing. The beef was melt in your mouth tender, which contrasted nicely with the pasta, which was a perfect al dente. The sauce and presentation made the dish an experience. There were three members of our party who where cautious, skeptical eaters, but after seeing the plate, they were curious. Each were convinced to try the ravioli. All three were immediately converted and one even ordered their own. Next, the Leek Confit Ravioli, again delicious. Definitely lighter then the beef but just as aromatic and exciting to eat. Honestly, it was a mystery. I was certain, that when reading the menu, I had intentionally chosen an all vegetable ravioli for my main corse, but what I was tasting was rich and bold. My tastebuds and my brain were having a dilemma. One was saying suculant beef and the other was saying impossible. I allowed them to have their interactions, my brain and tastebuds, while I delighted in every bite. I shared my ravioli with the three skeptics from earlier and they had the same experience, they were certain that they were eating meat. It had become such a topic at the table that I had to request the dinner menu just so I could confirm what I ordered. We were all pleased with our selections and were, while still seated, planning our next vist. Standing ovation to the chef and all of the...

We came here for the first time for a birthday celebration. We made the reservation letting them know it was a birthday, and brought in a custom cake that a bakery had made. They took it to the back for me, knowing what it was. Then when ordering we had someone who only eats chicken. They brought the one child we had a chicken fingers plate with fries, but they wouldn’t bring any more chicken tenders to the table. We told them we would pay whatever they wanted to charge us for the chicken tenders, but the one person just couldn’t eat anything else due to dietary restrictions. We begged them for it. They said “We tried, but the chef is very particular”. I also asked for a side of French fries, and they wouldn’t bring any because again the chef is very particular, even though they had just brought some for the child we had. I insisted again that I would pay whatever it cost to get a side of fries. They would not bring any. The waiter took about 30 minutes to bring one Pepsi out. We had to ask her three times for one drink. In a place that nice, we would have expected them to cater to the customer more than that.
Then, at the end of the meal, we asked if they could bring out the cake, to which they told us they would have to ask the chef. They came back 15 minutes later and said they could not allow us to cut the cake or eat it in the restaurant for DHEC reasons. I asked then why did they take it from us knowing it was a cake we wanted for dessert? We begged them for this too, trying to reason with them that every other restaurant in the country does this, despite some unnamed regulation. So our birthday celebration wasn’t one at all. God forbid if we brought gifts in the place. We didn’t even get to sing happy birthday. It’s not like the restaurant was full, and that they were overwhelmed. The menu is limited at best and there were 3-4 other tables in the entire place.
We drove over an hour to have this birthday dinner and brought this cake with us, and now we had to take it back another hour without getting to celebrate. By the time we got home, the cake icing was coming off of the cake. Needless to say, I will never come back here and I would never recommend anyone go here.
This could have been such a different experience, but this chef/manager/owner has no idea how to treat...
Read moreABSOLUTELY “WORSE” experience ever at this Restaurant: I’m in town for MC Homecoming and decided to order a “To Go” order ( Salmon & Grits). Drove to the restaurant and placed my order. The waiter was demanding that I pay before the meal was ready . I asked if that’s a mandatory requirement for this restaurant. He said no and I said well , I will pay after it’s ready in 15 mins. He told me to stay at counter . He went to the back and came back with my ticket and wanted me to pay. I advised again , that I would pay after meal is ready . I arrived back in 20 mins and a customer in front of me ( clearer than I am) , placed her to-go order and wasn’t asked to pay in advanced for her to-go order . After observing this , I said to the waiter, she wasn’t asked to pay before her meal is ready and he said because she is a regular. Isn’t that some “ Chitterlings” !!’ Then I was told , an extra $1.98 was added to my receipt, for pacing a “ To-Go” order ! What the “Hell” !! I asked the waiter , to show me where that’s written in their restaurant . He said he’s NEW and wasn’t sure / Yet, big bad Manager Alan came and said yes , that’s our policy it’s NOT WRITTEN!!! Well sir, WOWee! This is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Are you serious ! He said we lose out , when orders are placed but no “TIP” received- it gets BETTER ! He was so RUDE and Absolutely in my FACE !! So you added the $1.98 when I came back to pick up my meal - JESUS!!! So I refused to pay the extra $1.98 and told him he need to learn how to serve ALL races in the same manner! I walked out and this “dude” was walking behind me yelling , Not to come back in his restaurant. I told him to get away from me and you will NEVER see me stepping into that “Unpleasant, Rude and Awful Customer Service Restaurant “EVER” again ! BTW. When the bag was brought to me , the SALMON had a loud “Fishy” smell from the bag . Thank you for your poor service , because it Saved me from eating your Toxic FOOD that wasn’t worth my money !! I hope you will NOT experience what I went through today !! Or just Say “Hell NO”...
