Sub Station II — Restaurant in Sumter

First off, I’m coming from out of state to take my mom shopping and celebrate my daughter’s birthday. My mom wanted a sub. It’s 12 noon and the building looks abandoned. I was going to sit in the car with my small puppy but my two daughters and mom insisted that I come in and help place their orders because they weren’t familiar with substation. I’m not familiar with ordering either I used to just get a salad years ago from Substation 2 on Peach Orchard Rd before the pandemic but I stopped after the pandemic. Walked in and the older white lady took our orders was very nice but the black lady with glasses didn’t speak, wasn’t polite, just walked up while my daughter went to the car to get her change and said to me you can’t be in here with him! Didn’t asked me for any type of service animal verification or anything. So I politely said I’m helping them order because they’ve lost without me and she’s just standing looking at me with a rude stare. I put my puppy in the car and came back inside and my daughter said they want to know what you want on your sub, so the same lady that told me I couldn’t be in the restaurant with my dog ( which is understandable) still looking like she has an attitude, I’m thinking the dog is is the car so what’s the problem??? A third lady said I’m putting the topics on the sub, I proceeded to tell her what I wanted on my tuna sub with no issues then when my 8 yr old ham, turkey, and cheese sub she didn’t know what she wanted but typically from subway gets lettuce, mayo, and mustard.. I started letting her know while talking to my daughter what to put on her sandwich but my daughter changed her mind about first lettuce and then mayo and this lady bout lost it! Saying, I’m about to start over and murmuring under her breath with the same rude dog lady…. I told her it wasn’t that serious to fix it anyway. She finally lets me know it’s a menu with the side items at the end of the counter after my 8 year old got stuck on what to put on her sub. These two women were rude and very unprofessional..I’ve never been in this substation before and will never return. I’ll drive to peach orchard st first. Jealousy is a demon. They both never saw me before and decided to judge me and treat me rude for no reason. However they were nice to my mom and oldest daughter but me no! Food was decent. But the customer service is not worth...

The customer service was atrocious. We were immediately requested to put on our mask upon entry. I didn’t have a problem with the reminder, it was the way the lady asked us to do it. She was rude and condescending and has no business in customer service. She wears glasses, and is a light shade of brown. No one greeted the customers. We wound up have a dispute over her ignorance. I slid my mask down to sip my drink and she shouted at me and said “this is a mask establishment and that means no eating or drinking”. Now! No sign is up stating that very extreme restriction. In fact, they are still operating under emergency Covid restrictions. I refuse to be shouted at and naturally reacted. I do not recommend ever going to this establishment. There sandwiches are good but you will wait way too long for your food. Her anger with us prompted the fastest sandwich I’ve ever ordered from this establishment. This is a straight hood restaurant and the staff is just as ghetto. STAY AWAY, SPEND YOUR MONEY...

This rating is not only for the sub, but for the experience I had lately... but this was the 2nd time I came here this week. The first time I called about 10 times.. finally went there it was about 10-15 minutes before close and they had the doors locked. This time I called a few times and went in.. (Definitely not to my surprise that...) I was in there after I had ordered.. and decided to call in.. and guess what?! Not one single ring in the building. Not to mention, the sub was made incorrectly. I was trying to figure out why my mouth was on fire. The other sub I ordered had hot peppers on it.. but mine should not have had it. I should've turned around when I walked in and no one spoke. Just slack!

Update: 12/13/2021 The Mr. went inside for me. I had a #19 cold plate. It was delicious. I can't speak for the service, but since he did not complain about anything.. I'd say they did...
