Kobe Japanese Steak House — Restaurant in Sumter

Poor customer service! Waitresses rude and try to rush your meals. As soon as we got our food; we were instantly offered and given Togo boxes. Usually the restaurants that have cook's entertaining, they are a little more enthused..... our food was slung onto the plates sloppy & piled up. I had a better experience in West Virginia at their Kobe. This location also charges gratuity for the amount of ppl seating around the flat top. There were literally 5 different groups there & everyone was charged over $8 gratuity and we were even apart of the same grouping. I wouldn't have minded the gratuity if the service was decent. Not to.mention they charge you a fee to use your cards.. thats crazy! Then a debit card was missing at our table. The lack of concern and the responses that we received was flat out pitiful. After giving the card to pay the bill; the book and receipt were returned; but not the card. The waitress constantly had a smirk on her face while we stayed there over 30 mins asking them about the card and helping looking for it; even though it NEVER made it back to the table. Not to mention the waitress was giving ppl the wrong receipt books. Smh! Losing a card while out of town is totally INCONVENIENT; especially when you didn't loose it. The waitress never returned it. And what a coincidence that I get on here and read that other ppl have had the same issue with a waitress trying to steal their card their. Horrible service will not go here again me and my boyfriend went here a month ago around 830 and paid $70 for two plates of food I could’ve understood the price for my plate but I was charged $11.75 for my tip meanwhile others who we’re at the same table was charged $4.00 when I asked why I was charged so much they told me because I didn’t order water with my meal I had a sweet tea which the other people had at the table as well being that we were the only black people at the table I felt very uncomfortable and outraged they TOOK MY TIP OFF WITHOUT ASKING ME a tip is not mandatory nor did I had to give one the service was horrible the cook didn’t even entertain us half of our food he fixed landed on the table and when I asked for my receipt the waiter was hesitant with giving it back to me I will never come back to this restaurant anymore Its seriously not the way to treat people NOT TO MENTION two years ago they did. The same scam with me on my debit card with charging me twice on my card and pretending to not know anything about it until I caught them In their act LAW ENFORCEMENT DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE INVOLVED !...

After a movie with my best friend. We stopped cuz we wanted to try this restaurant something new. While inside ordering the food everything was great drinks were wonderful. We received our bill, the waiter asked what kind of card I was using I said my bank card. He then took the bank card and made the transaction. My friend paid cash, she received her cash refund promptly. When it came to me receiving my card back we were waiting about 5 minutes. When I looked on my phone and it said that the transaction had already been completed. I had to ask the manager to please give me my card back. Within 1 hour later my debit card was used in Amazon transaction. And I had just gotten the card and had not had it for a week. When I called the restaurants to tell them that my card has been used within hour of leaving. They said well maybe you did something with your card. They deny that the waiter did anything and they didn't even ask him. It seemed like she already had the excuse ready. If anyone has experienced this I will be heading to the Better Business Bureau. And I'm sure the more complaints they get it...
