I used to live in Toledo, Ohio where Marcos originated. While in grad school at Bowling Green State, my son and I frequented Marcos on a weekly basis. As I transitioned and resided in various states, we always sought out Marcos restaurants as first choice. With this said, I recently had a bad experience at the Sumter, SC location. I was tired from working a 10 shift and wanted to bring pizza home for my son since I was too tired to cook. I ordered an extra large one topping carry out special. It took 15 around minutes to prepare. Once I received it, there was very little sauce and cheese and the about half of the pizza edges didn’t have anything covering it. I am a former pizza maker and I quickly noticed it. The worker was nice enough to to make it over , but that would mean I had to wait another 15-20 minutes. So I asked for my money back. From a customer service standpoint I would of offered to give a special discount for the customer since it wasn’t his fault the pizza maker made the pizza wrong. Also, I would of considered that my customer had already waited and now will have to wait again. Offering a discount or additional item for free would have mitigated the situation, but instead my money was returned to my debit card in which I had only enough to purchase dinner with. That means now I had to wait 24-48 hours for the money to be placed back on my card and I couldn’t bring home pizza to my family. Lastly, I review late of restaurants, however, this is the first negative review...
Read moreOn 31 October 2024, I placed an order with the general manager, Christina. While placing my order, I had a hard time hearing so I moved into the house. I apologized and asked her to repeat herself. She asked for my address. I gave it to her although questioning why she needs my address. Continued the with the order and at the end I asked her if this was for carry out. She said no, you said delivery. I said ma’am, I did not hear you mention anything for carry out or deliver. She says I had you verify your address and I can’t change it because I already pushed it through. She continued to go back and forth with me. I asked her if there is a price difference for carry out and deliver says yes $5. I said ok I want to pick it up (because the restaurant is down the street from my house). She had a huge attitude while huffing and puffing that she cancelled the delivery and it is carryout then hung up on me. Her customer service was very poor. Upon pick up, the nice gentleman behind the counter says she’s always like that (rude). If you don’t like your job, then find a new. As someone who worked customer service, the customer is always right to a certain extend. And being the general manager you can over ride the order and made it so much more simpler than arguing with the customer. Please send her back to customer service training because it is very much needed for...
Read moreEvery Tuesday my wife and I have pizza night. For weeks she has been getting Marco’s Pizza because she likes the crust. She always calls in the order , and always gets a “meat supremeo” (a $21.17 loaded pizza with meats, peppers, onions etc.) On October 17 she called in for our regular order and went by to pick it up. Later at home it was discovered that we actually had a cheese pizza with some peppers and onion. No sign of the regular weekly pizza. No meat? My wife called the manager and let them know about the wrong pizza and he told her that our pizza would be free “next Tuesday” (today). (He would annotate in their computer that our next pizza would be free.) That is a reasonable offer considering that we had to eat a pizza with no real condiments on it. Today (Oct 24) per our regular routine, my wife called and placed the order for pickup. At pick up she explained to the cashier about last week and the promise of this being a free pizza. However, they gave her the run around..the cashier said ."we'll catch you next week" ...so we were charged $21.17 for this pizza. So much for any real gesture of good will for messing up our order last week.
Well Marco’s, we won’t be doing any more business with you. My wife liked your crust. But, quite frankly I think your pizza and customer...
