I normally don’t do this, especially if I love somewhere but tonight was unacceptable... I am 38 weeks pregnant with my first child after much difficulty and I went to dinner tonight with my sister, we were drinking sweet tea and everything was great until the waiter brought a pitcher to refill our drinks... He had a rag on his hand that smelt strongly of a lemon scented cleaner which I thought nothing of initially... however as I was eating and drinking the tea with my food I thought something was off so I swallowed my food and tasted the tea alone. To my shock there was a heavy presence of an artificial chemical lemon taste... I had by this point ingested a third of this cup. I begin to panic and ask my sister if her tea tastes funny too which she tastes and describes the same in her glass. I tell her oh my god it’s lemon cleaner because it tastes how his rag smelled. I’m crying by this point because I’m pregnant. The waiter comes up and we explain to him and he literally doesn’t question it and takes them up. He comes back with new ones and tells me some story about how the pitcher was full of lemons before he grabbed it and filled it... I’m not stupid I can definitely tell this was not a natural lemon flavor and explain to him that I must know what cleaner this is ASAP so I can call my OB. He tells me they don’t use lemon scented cleaner. He then grabs his manager. The manager comes up after 5-10 minutes and proceeds to tell me the tea was soured and they don’t use lemon scented cleaner... I know the difference in soured tea and what I tasted. I am hysterical now and begging for them just to tell me what cleaner it is so I can seek medical attention for my unborn child. He hem haws around and leaves again and returns saying it might be what they clean the tables with which is a mixture of windex and pinesol..... uh hello pinesol is lemon scented so clearly this is what’s happened but “they don’t use lemon scented cleaner” It took twenty minutes to finally get a straight answer on what it was, i literally ran out of the restaurant in tears and had to go to the hospital to labor and delivery to be monitored and luckily baby is okay but this seriously could have been detrimental. I just cannot believe this happened. I am...

Had high hopes for our first time here considering all the great reviews and how busy they always seem. First our table was extremely sticky but since it was all over the table we're assuming it's their cleaning. Did we ask for it to be wiped again? No, then it would be wet and most likely sticky still. Our waitress was very nice and quick. She got our drinks and chips/salsa while we had time to look over the menu. She took our order and between sitting down and ordering, including getting drinks, it was under 5 mins. Now for dinner - w hich should've been tasty but left us disappointed. I ordered the Huevos con Chorizo and 1 Tamale. What was brought was Huevos Rancheros - with the saddest hardest fried eggs I've ever seen, but still wrong. My spouse ordered Enchiladas Verde. You expect chicken enchiladas topped with green sauce. This was rolled up plain cooked chicken in a corn tortilla with some green sauce on top and melted cheese. But not even enough sauce to cover the enchiladas. He also ordered rice and beans, which were extra and on the side. My 1 Tamale arrived a bit after food and was covered in a brown sauce and ground beef - ok, that's a bit different but we'll give it a shot. Not sure what the brown sauce was, definitely didn't taste like molè. The tamale was 90-95% masa, which has no flavor and the rest was shredded chicken. Which did not go with the brown sauce and ground beef on top of it. Someone else delivered the tamale, drop and go situation, so it was just a few more minutes before our waitress came back. She apologized for the mistake and was going to have the correct Huevos made. No need - at this point, I'd snacked on my spouses just enough to not want to eat anymore of whatever disaster would've come back out. She removed the charge from the bill and left us to finish dinner. Thank goodness for all the sauce on top of the tamale as my spouse used it to eat with his chicken roll up once the green sauce was gone. Besides our waitress the whole experience was disappointing. Good thing there's other...

In terms of price, this place is inexpensive. But that's all that I can say good about it.

The arrangement of the lot that it is on just puts a big question mark over my head. I can't figure out what this place was built as. If it was built as a sit down restaurant, the designer was on serious drugs. Handicap access is non-existent. There were no handicap spaces indicated near what I think was the main door. There was no curb cut or ramp near the door. Maybe I was on the totally wrong side of the restaurant , but if I was, so was everyone else (see #1). The space right outside the door was lined for parallel parking. If those spaces were parked in, the door would almost be blocked. Interior design mirrored the lot, it was just a jumble. It was very awkward getting in and out of the door. When it was time to leave, my elderly mother was completely confused, even with me guiding her. It was winter so the outdoor portion of the seating area was covered and walled in. Sitting there, the traffic noise was impossibly loud. I can't imagine sitting out there in any season. Cleanliness was just barely passable. The menus were greasy and frayed. The floor in the dining area was sticky. The tables were not clean. Food was not good. I had chicken enchiladas with a "special" green sauce. It was a canned tomatillo, chili, cilantro sauce, very plain. The shredded chicken was watery, so the enchiladas were just soggy. Beer selection was nada, either bud or Dos Equis. I didn't try my mother's margarita.

First visit to this place, and it was after dark. Very difficult figuring out how to get back out of the parking lot.

I have been often to the same restaurant in Manning. I would give the Manning location 4.5 stars. The Sumter restaurant should be shut down for sanitation and...

We always love our experience at Mariachis. The ambiance is cozy on the inside, spacious and energetic in the outside seating (which is covered and climate controlled). The chips are always fresh and brought to the table almost immediately. But the thing that separates the chip game at Mariachis is their homemade hot salsa. You have to ask for it, and it's not for the faint of heart (it's hot!) , but it is absolutely amazing. The food is prepared fresh, delivered while it's hot, and in ample portions...even the lunch portions. The prices are reasonable and the waiting staff is friendly and attentive.

Always meets and exceeds my expectations, time and time again. Mariachi brings authentic Mexican food at a great price. The salsa. So addictive I had to stop so I could eat the real food! Spicy with the flavor, excellent. Carnitas plate. Very simple meal, but tells the entire story of the restaurant. The carnitas is juicy and tender, showing the quality of protein they use. Service was ridiculously fast, we waited 5 minutes when got our food. As a California native, I go to mariachi whenever I need some food that reminds me of home. I had wondered why the restaurant’s parking lot was consistently full. After my visit, the reason became clear—good food at reasonable prices. I ordered the beef and cheese dip, three soft tacos, chicken soup, guacamole, shrimp, and Mexican steak. Every dish was enjoyable, with moderate portions and plenty of flavor. The only drawback was the limited selection of Mexican drinks, but that’s understandable given the restaurant’s family-friendly focus rather than a bar atmosphere.
