What was once good pizza with matching service continues to dwindle..
I ordered a pizza for takeout on a Saturday evening. Before calling in, I quickly pulled up the menu for the first listed location online, which was not the same menu for the location I was picking up at. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, because I thought the pizzas would be the same across all locations no matter what the menu. Unfortunately, this is not the case. When calling and speaking to management, they were unable to provide me with an explanation of why not all pizzas at any of the three Salvatore’s locations are not the same, specifically with regards to the ingredients on the pizzas, and encouraged me to use the menu which corresponds with the pick up location for future orders. Undoubtedly, a mistake was made on my behalf prior to ordering, but why the pizzas and the ingredients vary by location, when all Salvatore’s are connected is mind-boggling, not only to me, but also to the manager who apparently can’t think of why this could be.
Admittedly, part of this review is but no mistake of my own, but the absence of an explanation by the manager did not sit well with me. Nonetheless, this would have been written off as a mistake on my behalf and nothing more, but even with pickup did I have a poor, short-lived experience while inside. Upon my arrival, the host up front let me know my order was not ready for pickup, though arrival at the suggested 7:50pm pick up time. No fuss, because I know all times are estimates. I find a place to wait, which always feels awkward as there is not much for designated spot to stand at this location without feeling like you are somehow inadvertently in the way. Several minutes later, a pickup order is brought up front and taken by another employee who is supposedly off the clock, as she proclaimed, and reluctantly goes to place the pizza in the holding area. The host who waited on me is, at this point busy on her phone and doesn’t notice the order being brought to the front. I politely ask if the pick up order is for me and the clocked-out employee tells me it is my order. Still, the host is on her phone and does not look up to help me pay for the pizza, while the other employee moves things along.
For $19.95, with tax and nothing more, for one 10" pizza, the experience leaves a bad taste. When eating out and supporting local, a customer wants to feel appreciated and valued, not acknowledged and dismissed. Albeit short, my interaction with Salvatore's leaves much to be desired and has me question whether I will return any time in the future, nonetheless to...

This was our first time visiting this new location. I guess they moved locations a little over a year ago. We live about 30 mins away, but we have never forgotten about the amazing pizza we had long ago. Last visit was so amazing, it left us with such a wonderful impression we made it a point to come back. I wish we had come sooner! When entering the place it has a modern hipster feel. The place is a bit loud when full, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. We were immediately greeted with hellos and seated by a smiling hostess. Within minutes we had waters and our drink order was taken. They had several great craft beers to choose from if you are a beer drinker, otherwise signature cocktails, wine or a full bar for selecting from. This was during busy dinner time and with a buzzing full restaurant. We asked a few questions, which the waitress was happy to answer for us. We were now ready to order! We went with a specialty style 1/2 and 1/2 pizza so we could try some different options. The Woodsman was an amazing Mushroom pizza with awesome fresh taste on one half and the other half was called the Forza! This had Gouda cheese, garlic, tomatoes, goat cheese, uncured pepperoni and so much more. This establishment probably cooks one of the best pizzas we have ever had in the state of Wisconsin. It is that good. The crust is perfect! My wife and I both said next time we would try the Fat Uncle Tony's meatlover's pizza. We wish they served a Margarita pizza with a white sauce.... Prices were reasonable.... the place was clean, service was freindly, food came out fast, and best of all was fresh. What more can you ask for! Great job...
Read moreWe came from a long day outside and found Salvatore's on a whim. We were starving, parched, and a 1/2 hour too early. The owner came to the door to say we were a bit early and asked if we could wait for a bit but because one of us is 4 years old, we said, no, sorry we'll catch you next time. We went to hop in the car and the owner came out to say that the ovens were hot so if we didn't mind a little chaos, we were welcome to come in early. OH JOY! We were grateful and surprised that they opened early for us.
We were even more grateful when they made a special request pasta dish for our son - who ate the pasta and sausage like he was a lost man found. And he had a great time because there's a little play area with books!
And we were even MORE grateful after the delicious salad (greens, fruit, cucumbers, onions, carrots... Yum!) and the fig and bacon pizza.
OMG. The Fig and Bacon Pizza. Order it. Drive from where ever you are right now and order it. I've lived in both NY and Chicago, not to mention the District of Columbia, Alaska, South Dakota, and South Carolina and people, listen to me - THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER TASTED. Ever. Tasted. Ever. The sweetness of fig is balanced by the salty depth of the bacon, gorgonzola, and mozzarella; and the crust... the crust is crisp on the bottom and chewy at the puffed up, perfectly browned edge. It's amazing. This pie deserves to be in the pizza hall of fame.
Go there if you're even remotely close to Sun Prairie. It's a win-win. You get amazing pizza and you support an amazingly compassionate owner of a more-than-worthy...
