Insanely dissapointing that the booking website is not neurodivergent friendly. I recently tried to come in with my husband for a nice laid back and fun date. I booked online and was dissapointed when I came in to find out that the booking was only for one person. All of the information is lumped into a giant paragraph when booking and the instructions are unclear. The page comes off as a "terms and conditions" type of paragraph that the details get lost. The staff member at the cashier was kind and let me know that unfortunately, there was a mistake in the booking. However, the owner and a secondary staff member decided to come up while I was expressing my dissapointment and frustration just to show me that I was wrong by pulling up the information on her phone to show me HOW I was wrong. I tried to express how I made this error and was met with "Nope, it says clearly on the site on how to book the appointment and how many people are reserved for." This came off as very rude and was extremely frustrating, the website is clearly not disability friendly. As someone with severe ADHD, I have booked with plenty of other sites with no problem, that make it very clear of exactly how many people are on my booking right off the batt and double check at the end to make sure I have the number clearly listed before, during, and after recieving the email for booking. The owner made me feel stupid and I felt upset that I wasn't able to go through with my suprise date for my husband. I left feeling uspet and embarassed from how I was treated. Fortunatley, I found another cat cafe nearby that immediately lists the number of people you are booking for right after clicking on the time I want to book, so I will be going...
Read moreMy wife set up a reservation for her and I to come visit this cafe. When we entered the cafe, we were told by one person "oh you only booked it for one person." Which, wouldn't work for us and isn't highlighted properly on their website. There was no accountability on their end of miscommunication and instead the other two employees that were in the front felt the need to jump in and add to us being wrong saying "oh yea it's listed multiple times" and even felt the need to pull out their phone to show us their website. We were just on their website booking a reservation, we don't need you to be rude and pull it out to prove your point. Reading some reviews, I've seen other people face the same issues, but there doesn't seem to be any adjustments on their website when it comes to reservations. Most websites would highlight "This is for one person only" or have a ticket system to add/subtract people for a reservation. Not sure if it is worth the time visiting, but staff could definitely use some time learning accountability and have some kindness when it comes to a mistake that seems...
Read moreThe Cat's Brew is precisely what the greater Madison area needed. As a self declared cat lady, I'm surprised I didn't hear about this magical place until a few months after it opened. I was struck by how cute the interior of the coffee shop was when I walked in. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The blueberry cream scone I had was very tasty and the folks were kind enough to warm it.
Now. The best part. THE CATS! For $10, I was able to spend an hour with like 10 cats. Most were young, spritely felines. They were all SO sweet. The volunteer gave us the low down on each cat (name, temperament, story if known). We were given toys and treats to give the resident babies. It was truly a dream come true. I can't wait to go back. It is my new favorite coffee shop in the area. Best ever!
