Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Sun Prairie

I am usually not the one to write a negative review but I thought this was worth sharing.

I ordered my pizza online one hour in advance for 7pm. I pulled into the parking lot on time, but noticed a long line inside and decided to wait in my car since the lobby was rather small. After 10 minutes I went inside.

There were 4 other people waiting around when I entered. There was a crew of about 5 people and all of them working on different tasks/walking around. I waited at the front register for about 10 minutes without any employee making eye contact with me. While waiting, the phones proceeded to ring repeatedly with a staff member finally coming over and saying "please hold" to the person on the line. Finally I thought I was going to be helped but it was someone coming to take the order on the phone. The manager was "having issues hearing the customer" and supposedly got hung up on by the person on the phone. (I'm glad I didn't call in an order, I would have never been helped.) Eventually I was able to get helped and my pizza had been ready on the warmer the entire time I was there. If only there was a pickup space where customers could grab their pizza instead of wait for 20 minutes (just a thought)....

Got their pizza the first or second week it was open, and everything was fantastic. We then ordered again tonight, and clearly the corporate startup crew has left the building. Absolutely pathetic.

We ordered at 5:30, and it said the food would be ready by 6-6:10. I showed up at 6:05 to a complete zoo. There were 15+ people standing in the lobby all very frustrated. The employees were cracking jokes and moving at the pace of a snail, they seemed to find it hilarious how swamped they were. The young lady making the crust and another young man were flirting loudly and giggling about the order or something they were working on, they had no haste whatsoever. The “manager” was walking around acting like a hot shot but not actually working towards getting her employees working faster or better at all. In fact, as she walked to the register she shouted out a pizza to make and laughed as she did it.

When she finally asked me how she can help me, I told her I had an online order and she told me it would be another 30+ minutes. I immediately asked to cancel my order and left. She said she was sorry and that they “had two people walk out” - but if the 5 employees there actually tried to do their jobs well they could have easily handled the rush and gotten food to their customers. I tried to call when I got home so I could find out how to contact the owner, and they literally ignored the call and it went right to holding music. What a...

If I could give zero stars I would. Those in charge clearly don’t care since no one is responding to reviews. Waiting over an hour for our order just to find out that it wasn't even started after the planned delivery time. Tried to call the store, no one answered (shocking). Then the order screen switched over to door dash and delivery time showed it would be another hour before it would be delivered. I feel sorry for the Door dash driver that sat and waited there while the staff there had to finish our order (20 minutes). Ultimately the order showed up a half hour from the original promised time.
