Midtown Bistro — Restaurant in Sunbury

I absolutely enjoy this place. We visited July 18, 2025, and the acoustic-type band (Rapid Run) was wonderful! The server was attentive and informative. We shared a pierogi appetizer with marinara and sour cream for dipping. The two of us each had fish dinners, one fried and one broiled which came with two sides. The flavor and texture were as expected. I had the mac n cheese, which was made with a white cheddar (I believe) and scrumptiously creamy (I think I got a serving and a half, maybe two - it was a lot but heated up well for leftovers). We started with salads. They were a healthy serving and fresh. There was an abundance of food and I won't complain about the price as it was very reasonable. Food took almost an hour to be served. Nothing fancy, 2 burgers and a fried fish sandwich. My burger was not cooked as requested medium, but well done, so why ask? Also was to come with straw onions; there were 2 bits of onion. The burger was so cold the cheese didn't melt. Fries were those sad little bits at the bottom of the bag. Why serve them? My son observed the waitress on her cell phone the majority of the time we were there, which is why I believe our order took so long; someone forgot to put out order in. I took my entire meal to go to appease my husband, but wound up throwing it away at the hotel when he wasn't looking. No one should be forced to...

We came in to enjoy some margaritas in Cinco de mayo and they had a $5 special for classic and blackberry. The blackberry was very good and had pieces of blackberries in the drink. Nachos were very ok. We prefer queso over shredded melted cheese. The fried fish was a huge portion and the shrimp tacos were done to perfection. Highly recommend they keep them on the menu! The waitress did her best but the kitchen was slow and we had to wait for our food. We didn't mind because we had no where to go but if you are coming here on a Friday or Saturday night, expect to wait...
