What a find! We have been going to Bharat Bazaar for years, but we stumbled upon Coastal Curries in there and were completely blown away—this place is a rare find! The standout dish that absolutely stole my heart was their avocado jhaal moori. What an incredibly creative take on a classic—flavorful and fresh. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite and go, wow.
Everything else we tried was equally unforgettable: The mutton paya was rich, the tandoori chicken was smoky and juicy, and their tawa fish was beautifully spiced and tasty! And a special note to their ginger chaai—oh, the chaai! It was just like home!! Other dishes that I recommend - the sev puri, dahi batata sev puri and yes, the chicken kathi roll!
We ended our meal with gulab jamun, and it was just the way it should be—soft, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth authentic.
There’s so much taste in every dish here. Been there thrice already before this review..and twice, our agenda was avacado jhaal moori, but ended up having a lot more.. It’s not just good food—IT IS DELICIOUS!! Definitely going back for some of my favorites, and to try more amazing dishes on the menu!
P.S. the space has also been revamped pretty well. Impressive! Also, love trying new things there- the bhajiya, and the chilli bhajji have been fun...

"I had the most incredible dining experience at Coastal Curries of India! The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that transported me to the coast of India.
The service was top-notch - our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations.
But the real star of the show was the food! I ordered the Tandoori Tiger Prawns and the Coconut Fish Curry, both of which were absolutely divine. The flavors were bold, complex, and expertly balanced. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable.
I've tried many Indian restaurants before in the Bay Area, but Coastal Curries of India truly stands out from the rest. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking to try something new, do yourself a favor and book a table here ASAP!
Will definitely be back!"

I’ve visited Coastal Curries of India a few times, and it’s a decent spot if you're looking for affordable Indian coastal cuisine. The restaurant is located inside Bharat Bazar grocery store in Sunnyvale, operating as a kitchen with a seating option—so don’t expect a fancy setup, but it gets the job done.
They have a wide variety of options, including chicken, fish, prawns covering everything from appetizers to curries, Tandoori items including chicken fish prawn , Thalis (lunch & dinner), and even dosas with meat options like chicken and mutton.
Dishes I Tried:
Special item Paya with Parota – the taste was very good and worth trying.
Salmon Fish Tawa Fry – Very good, and surprisingly less expensive.
Chicken 65 – very good freshly made and crispy
One major plus point is that they prepare everything fresh, live—which adds to the overall experience and quality of the food.
If you’re Indian food on a budget, this place is worth a try may satisfy your expectations
