Please try your food. It was bad.
To the owners, I hope you will take these suggestions to improve your food. I eat mainly Chinese cuisine; I came in very excited to try your food because you have lots of my favourites, and left extremely disappointed. If I hadn't eaten in the car I would have asked for a refund.
I had the Jian Bing (chinese crepe with crispy thin dough) and the northern style Da Lu Mien (savoury seafood and pork gravy noodles).
When did you make the Jian Bing? I ate it within 1 minute of receiving it and the crispy dough was soft as an overdone noodle. On top of that, the sauce was so little the entire thing had no flavor. Maybe this is regional, but on the fillings, I can't imagine paying $9 to have no lettuce and no black sesame on top. The flavor profile was nonexistent. To improve, make this fresh to order, and take care so that you place a consistent amount of topping to give it flavor.
On the northern style Da Lu Mian. This is supposed to be a savory gravy with a lot of umami coming from the mushrooms and the seafood. In contrast, the sauce was very thin and the flavor rather bland in that department. I recommend stewing for longer to extract the flavor, boiling off some water to condense it more, and adding some starch to make a thicker gravy. Also, I had maybe 4 of the thinnest pork pieces that were so overdone they were somehow dry, despite sitting in soup. I recommend cutting thicker slices so they don't overcook immediately upon hitting...
Read moreFood is not too bad, but they dont speak English. I suggest you look at the wall. Or the paper menu tape to the counter window. If you dont, the other menu is expensive. I dislike restaurants with QR code (that require you to order from phone) because service is bad. The tables are very close together so whoever sit on inside cannot come out. This would be no big deal if there were service. But the waitress took the water pitcher away when my glass was empty, I could not get up to refill on my own. It is like they have no brain. The food took awhile so dont put the pitcher on next table, or if you do that make sure no ones glass is empty. The food good but they double charge us for shepards purse wonton. They charge 14.99 twice. This wonton soup was not very good. It was average but did not have the shepard purse flavour. Just taste salt. So not worth 14.99. Our bill came out 89 plus over 102 with tip because they double charge us. I caught the mistake & they did offer to take it off but Dad got extra buns instead. I think this place is kind of expensive & tables are too crowded. Waitress appear for 2 seconds then disappear....
Read moreMy family of 3 wanted to order a few things for take out. Seeing that this place has a pretty good rating brought us there tonight. I quickly parked entered into the restaurant it was 8:09pm but was rudley denied any service.
I approached the woman at the bar and asked if I could order take out and she rudely says "no, we close". I thought I might of missed something but I look on my phone its 8:09pm and the restaurant closes at 9:30pm. I argued that its ONLY 8:09pm and she just nodded her head and said "WE CLOSE!". I AM DISGUESTED! A place like that should be fined. Dont waste peoples time and correct your hours on the website. The way that nasty old prune conducted herself scares me that this place has a pretty decent rating.
Well that reminds me there was not a single person in there that DIDNT look asian and I am a white guy who just loves Chinese food. This place in particular needs to be held accountable for not honoring their business hours. My advice to anyone is if you are a white person dont go in there. The place looks like a run down dinki-dive. Dont...
