Let me begin by saying, I love Hope Coffeeās product. I think itās fantastic; the coffee and the pastries (created by Latham Bakery) are wonderful. Iām basing my review not by the quality of the product, but because of A) time taken to craft a single drink and B) customer service.
I frequent Hope Coffee enough in the mornings (before 6:50) to know that there isnāt a huge line waiting inside. Yet, I have multiple times experienced wait times of over 20 minutes in the drive through for a two to three car line, two times resulting in cars leaving the drive thru line . Unacceptable. If youāre running a drive through, you MUST be able to create and present drinks in an acceptable amount of time. There is no reason my single 16 oz drink is taking 6+ minutes to make - again, on more than one occasion.
This morning, I went again, because as stated, I do love the product. Hope Coffee has the āpunch cardā policy that your tenth drink is free. Bear in mind, to get to that āfreeā drink, youāre spending at least $45 before taxes, and thatās at bare minimum. Most times, Iāll get a pastry or a breakfast taco in addition. I had a free drink owed this time, and handed my card to the cashier, a barista I had never seen before. Because it was to be free, I decided to upgrade to a 20oz rather than a 16oz drink. The barista informed me that I owed a whopping $.27. Iāll be honest, I was a bit incredulous. Evidently, āfree drinkā is only offered up to a certain amount. While $.27 cents is literally pennyās, the principle of the matter is what bothered me. Donāt promote a free drink if itās not going to be - and if someone is uncertain or unaware that itās to a certain amount, or if youāre updating your āpunch cards,ā honor what has been done in the past.
Again, I do appreciate Hopeās chill atmosphere and the quality drinks while frequenting inside, but I have experienced too many problems with the drive thru to continue to make this a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām conflicted on my review and soon youāll understand why. I frequent Hope Coffee in the drive-thru regularly in the morning and I am without fail welcomed with smiles, compliments, light small talk, and even reminders for my frequent-use stamp when I forget. My coffee is always made to order and tastes amazing when purchased on my morning commute. I quickly found however itās a different story when purchased any other time. The coffee just didn't ever hit right (bland) but Iām reasonable and adjusted by ensuring I got my cup of ājoeā only in the morning. Ok! I know and Iām getting there; thank you for staying with me. I conduct a random review of my debit card purchases and see on my banking statement a duplicate charge for $13.47 from Hope Coffee. I select the options to communicate it was a mistake and my bank wants me to report fraud and will send me a new card number. I decide to cancel the transaction and figure Iām better off frequenting Hope Coffee for the resolution especially since the err was caused by Hope. Wrong! 20 minutes wasted waiting for the transaction reversal and still walked away without my money. I wasnāt offered a complimentary water, a small beverage, chip, and my money was not refunded. I showed my card and the err to no avail. They did ask for my name and number but offered no expectations/explanation on when Iāll receive the extra money that was (Iām sure unintentionally) taken from my account when I gave my debit card to the clerk from the drive-through window. There is a way to provide excellent customer service and most especially when you are in the wrong. Hope Coffee manager does not understand the assignment but I wonāt return. Not even for the money not returned. I know Iām worth better service when things are well just as when thereās an issue.
Caveat!! If paying with a card, go inside and watch the swipe or just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a pretty chill spot in Sunnyvale. Very trendy too, so when you get to the entrance you go in and you keep going through this little gift shop that you can buy from the restaurant next door. Then oce you go past that the door is right there and go in it Wil say hope coffee. So I had a couple of things. The first was a Sunnyvale latte iced and that was pretty good. There was 3 sizes the one I got was the 16oz. It was a good latte it was a combination of hazelnut and Caramel. Then I also got a Mango green tea lemonade. Which was also good. You have plenty of seating. With some comfy lounge type of chairs in both corners. There is tables and booths to sit. They also have a more secluded area that is abit walled off, but is still part of the coffee shop. They do have a court yard that is open where you can play games and has a fireplace with lots of seating, and a little water fountain. That is shared with the restaurant next door, and I believe the bathrooms too. Overall this place is very neat and the service was great. It is a good place to sit take a break and drink some coffee or do some work or homework. Definitely will go back and try some pastries and more of...
