I was genuinely surprised by the employees' attitudes at this municipal court. Having experienced various municipal courts in different cities, the staff here displayed a noticeable lack of concern for others. The absence of a proper greeting upon arrival gave off the impression that they prioritize swift transactions over genuine service. Overhearing employees speaking disparagingly about citizens addressing tickets or water issues was disheartening.
There's a concerning sense that the staff here perceive themselves as superior to the citizens they serve. Read moreMy husband arrived early for his hearing to pay a ticket and to get deferred... he was still called almost last to see the judge... he arrived at 8:45am and it is 11:31am and he has still not been called up to make his payment so he can go back to work. There is ONE clerk taking payments and doing the paperwork while the other clerk is in the courtroom talking with the police officer instead of doing her job and helping this not take so long for people who have a job and have to pay the fines. I attempted to handle my citation the right way by submitting a formal request to contest it—but I was never contacted. I found out much later that a warrant had been issued, despite my efforts to follow protocol.
