All That Jazz: Where the Music and Food Hit the Right Notes All That Jazz in Sunrise isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. From the moment you step into the convivial strip mall hangout, you're greeted by the warm sounds of live jazz music and the inviting aroma of traditional American fare. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or a romantic night out, and the friendly staff makes you feel welcome and at ease. But the real star of the show is the food. All That Jazz serves up classic American dishes with a modern twist, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend starting with the Gumbo, which is a blend of Louisiana flavors. For the main course, I couldn't resist the salmon filet, and it did not disappoint. Of course, no visit to All That Jazz would be complete without indulging in some live music. The talented musicians on stage create the perfect soundtrack for your meal, and their passion for music is infectious. All That Jazz is a hidden gem in Sunrise, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a great meal, live music, and a fun night out. With its friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and toe-tapping tunes, All That Jazz is sure to become your new favorite spot. Warm regards, Scott Nicot - RE/MAX Direct

I'd been meaning to come here since I moved to Ft. Lauderdale almost 2 years ago, so with this small window of opportunity, I finally got there. My heart dropped when I pulled into the parking lot. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but it took me a half hour to get there and I had invited some friends along so there was no going back. I'm glad I didn't. It's a lovely place - a very pretty bar, table seating well spaced and there were a lot of servers roaming around - so nice to see a well staffed restaurant. Unfortunately our server was either having an off night or was a relative, but the others kept an eye on us so all was good. The food portions were huge and everything tasted terrific. It's a weird menu - mostly Italian but with some cajun/creole dishes and sauces you can put on your pasta or on cajun/creole dishes. Everything tasted very fresh. I thought my meatballs were better, but then what Italian doesn't? The jazz is top notch. I haven't heard jazz like that since I left LA. Not too loud, either (although I must admit my table was a little on the noisy side, which was unfortunate for the other diners) I met some lovely people there who seem to be regulars. All in all, definitely worth the drive and I look forward to going again.

This place is AWESOME!! A hidden gem! I brought my teenage son out for "a date" just the 2 of us and he LOVED IT! The vodka penne was super scrumptious and the chicken parmesan sandwich was yummy and super cheesy. THE BREAD PUDDING WAS THE BEST EVER!! It was like an apple crisp with no apples!! Yummmmmeee. Dave, my waiter, I believe is an owner, his mother answers the door and seated us, and his brother plays in the band, and his wife cooks the food! Best little place ever. Super romantic. Amazing for an impressive first date. Customer service out of this world. Music was phenomenal. Guest singer had a deep, rich, caramel voice. There is a small dance floor for when the music moves you!! SOOO good!!! 👍 Just went again and I absolutely loved it. Took my mom and she was in heaven. They played 3 of her songs! So happy to support a little home owned, live performance spot like this!! The penne vodka and the bread pudding were amazing as usual, but the maple glazed pork chop special was the most tender, delicious pork chop I've ever eaten! We also ordered the sambuca pasta and it's my new favorite! I've never had anything like it before and I cannot wait to try it again!

I was expecting better from this place. The musicians and music were great, but too loud for our group to talk and catch up.  It's more a show than dinner music, which we didn't expect.  Our group of 6 had reservations for a friend's birthday at 830p.  We were warmly greeted, but when we sat down discovered it was only open until 10p, not 11 like the friend thought.   That was on us.  However, since we sat down, the server reminded us many times that we had to hurry and order since the kitchen was closing soon.  It was off putting and made us feel rushed on Saturday night.  Don't offer 830p reservations if that means you rush your guests.  When I just checked their website it says open Saturday until 1030p and music until 10p.  Clarify with them when you'll be expected to leave since once the band stopped playing it felt like we were expected to leave.

The food was a mixed bag:

The lemon basil dressing on the salad was too oily and needs to either be stirred before serving or have more lemon added to the recipe.  The birthday girl ordered the glazed pork chop special and the bite I tried was super tender and delicious.  The bite of chicken Parm I tried was also made well and tasted delicious.

I ordered the special of salmon and shrimp livornese and found it disappointing.  Since they don't have gluten free pasta I ordered it with the rice instead of pasta.  The sauce on the menu described it as a sauce with kalamata olives, garlic, olive oil, tomatoes and capers.    That was not what I got - it came out with a mostly red sauce with sauteed tomatoes mixed with green olives, spinach and onions; no garlic or capers in sight.  Because of an argument within members of our party, I didn't realize the sauce was wrong until I read another review that called them out for switching olives in the dish.  The sauce I got was mildly spicy, but otherwise not well seasoned and  a little bitter.  Definitely not worth the $40 charge.  If I consider a $20 charge for the musicians and $20 for the food  that makes is seem reasonable.

Speaking of charging for music, it would be better for them to charge a musician fee of $10,15,20 and drop menu prices to more affordable and realistic prices.

Our desserts were much anticipated and the bread pudding and chocolate cheesecake were amazing, you must try them.  The tiramisu was another disappointment.

It's my favorite dessert, I try it at every restaurant and I've had it amazingly homemade at Italian markets and an Italian restaurant I used to work at during HS, so I know how good homemade can be.  This batch of tiramisu they served was overly soggy and bland, very little sweetness espresso flavor or cocoa flavor.  I only ate a few bites and others at my table tried it and felt the same.  I didn't even bother to take the 3/4 left of the dessert home.  I let our server know my thoughts on the tiramisu and said she was very surprised since she never heard that before.  Maybe it was an old or bad batch of tiramisu.

The server asked us when we sat down if we were all on one check and when we asked to split said they could only split it 3 ways, but then said because she wasn't busy she was ok splitting it 5 ways for us.  That worked out fine until the end of the night.   The owner came over to let us know that when we came back they wouldn't be able to split checks because they are a small mom and pop place and the fees for splitting checks cost too much.  He seemed upset at the server and shared that the server went over his head to do that for us and repeated it wouldn't happen again.  That out a more negative cast over the already disappointing night.  I don't remember if he even asked us how our night had gone and if we liked the food.

I'm not a huge jazz fan and was trying this out for a friend's birthday, so I don't plan on going back.

However, if you want to experience a great jazz show without being able to talk much except when the band is on break, this is the place.  Stick to drinks, appetizers and dessert unless you get the pork chops or chicken Parm. ...

I want to actually give this place a 3 1/2 stars. Why? Because the service was pretty good up until the end when our sever left for an extended amount of time while my party and I were sitting and waiting for awhile to order dessert. Our server was friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the menu. He was great at suggesting dishes and answering all of my families questions. I thought it would be awkward when he finally did show back up because my family started verbally commenting on where he might've gone. We were all confused. But when he showed back up he kind of tried to diffuse the situation with a joke. Still awkward but we didn't give him a hard time about it. We just ordered our desserts. Ambiance: The music sounded great and was the best part of the ambiance. Just know that this place is mainly for listening to great music and not conversing and talking to family. It will be too hard to hear anyone if they aren't right next to you. As far as the rest of the ambiance, I remember thinking to myself, this place looks like it could be updated a little more. Food: I ordered a pasta dish that was around $15 and it cost $3 extra to add chicken. Pasta dishes are always a sore spot for me because they are so expensive for noodles and sauce. A box of noodles at the store is literally a dollar. Maybe if it was homemade pasta then it's worth it. Or the sauce is excellent. But it was nothing special. Nothing else really appealed to me on the menu. But hey, I came here to enjoy the music and to enjoy a family birthday dinner. I shouldn't have added the chicken. It was plain with no taste and I ended up just eating the pasta without the chicken. The homemade cheesy garlic bread was great and I wanted to order seconds.

Overall, if you love Jazz Music. I highly recommend this place. For food I will use this scale: 1) nasty 2) edible 3) Just OK 4) good 5) great and 6) amazing. I would give this...
