Mavericks Pointe — Restaurant in Sunset Beach

The food was awful. Definitely frozen. The day we tried it was 83 outside. It must have been close to 100 inside with no air conditioning. Several fans were going but no relief. We ordered loaded nachos and spring rolls. We also ordered extra sour cream. When we got our food about 30 minutes later. Note it wasn't very crowded at all. The nachos looked like we got them at a gas station. Fake cheese, fake chili, and a couple scallions. Loaded nachos! What? On the side was 2 small containers of sour cream that were both filled about 1/4 of the way. So not only did we pay for extra sour cream but we only received about 1/2 of a full container. Nachos barely had anything on them. We are about 10 bites and we were done. Not good. Then we tried the 4 tiny spring rolls which came with a side of jelly. The inside of the spring roll was mushy. Definitely frozen. We also ordered 2 beers. Beers were cold. We saw a couple burgers and fries come out to other patrons. The burgers actually looked pretty good but we did not taste them. The menu was very limited. Only had 6 appetizer items. We asked our waitress what the specials were that they had on the sign as you walked in and she said "oh they are all the same as on our menu". Its sad because this place has such potential. It is located in a great spot close to the water at Sunset Beach but the food is awful. Hope they get things...

I don’t usually leave reviews.. but i would never recommend to ever go here. i wish i could review how the food was… an hour being there, they haven’t taken our order, starting to loose patience we left. It took us 20 minutes to get seated, we looked around and there were plenty open seats (at least 5 booths). Made eye contact with serval employees but none wanted to seat us. Finally we were rudely “greeted” and sat down after them throwing the menu down and asking us what we want to eat…since i never gone there before, i asked if we could have a second to pick something out of the small amount of choices, the server seemed immediately aggravated and said he’ll be back in acouple minutes. we watched our server walk around and completely ignore us for the next 30 minutes straight… it seemed a bit unreal. before going we looked at it’s reviews and thought people were just being too harsh… i promise you they aren’t being harsh one bit, this place has terrible service and i would never go back. i hope this helps anyone interested in going,...

First off, the food was good and so was the service...... So why the mediocre rating?!? It was a beautiful Sunday 🌞 First impressions are everything.... and we were met with, "We're short-staffed today.... it may be 10-15 mins before anyone can help you. No you can't sit outside, the manager wants everyone inside." Given the nature of things recently, most people understand the shortage of workers......... however, being greeted in this manner was very off-putting, to say the least. Maybe a hello, a welcome, something inviting first and THEN explain your situation. Ex: Good afternoon & welcome to Mavericks! Did you visit the craft fair in the park today? Just to let you know, our service is running a little slower today, as we are short-staffed. Feel free to grab a seat and a nice cold beverage from the bar, and we will be with you as quickly as possible.
