Panzone's Pizza — Restaurant in Surf City

A small but modern joint for pizza, Panzone’s hits the spot for enjoyers of great pizza. The food is just spectacular. The slice of pizza is hefty, and loaded with toppings if you order them. It tastes wonderful and comes out fresh, hot and steaming. I really enjoyed my slices, and was not disappointed in the slightest with my order. However, the prices compared to some places in New York are slightly higher, which is something to note. Additionally, be prepared to wait for your pizza. It took quite a bit of time to prepare four slices, but the wait made sure that the pizza was hot and fresh. Every pizza place review for lbi says it is the best pizza the reviewer has ever had. I am still looking for something that rises above average. I had 2 slices here chicken bacon ranch ($5.50) and sausage ($4.75). Place was nearly empty but it took 10 minutes to get the slices. The crust reminded me of Greek pizza. The sausage was cold and undercooked. Seemed almost like it was added after the pizza was heated. Same for the ranch sauce on the CBR slice. Was added after it came out of the oven. I had a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni, and a garden salad. Girlfriend had a hamburger. Pepperoni was those little cupping pepperonis which I don't really get the hype, but the pizza was thin, crisp, and piping hot. I had to try LBI's favorite pizza, and it really did not disappoint. Salad made some bold choices, such as the addition of chickpeas which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was a very generous portion.
