Horrendous Experience: Lost Order, Major Delay, Wrong Items, and Refund Issues - Avoid!
I am extremely disappointed with my recent online pickup order at Native Wings Marley Park (13929 West Waddell Road). What should have been a convenient family dinner turned into a frustrating and expensive nightmare.
I placed an online order around 5:45 PM and even called the restaurant (623) 544-6402 to confirm a 6:30 PM pickup, being assured by a representative that it would be ready.
Upon arrival, despite being only slightly late, I was repeatedly asked if I had been helped. When I finally got assistance and provided my name for the pickup, the ordeal began. After several minutes of waiting, I was informed my order couldn't be found, even after I showed them the order number. The hostess went to the kitchen multiple times.
Eventually, I was told it would take another 15 minutes to complete my order. When I requested a refund due to the significant delay, I was shockingly informed that they "do not refund orders done online" and I would have to use the app to get my money back. I felt trapped and pressured, as my family was waiting at home for dinner. I stated that they had 15 minutes or I would need to speak with a manager.
Miraculously, about 5 minutes later, I received a call from the restaurant stating they "found" my order under a different name. This is confusing, as the online app clearly asks for your name to prevent such errors. I grabbed the order and left, eager to finally get home.
However, the nightmare continued when I opened the order at home. It was terribly wrong. My margherita pizza, which I ordered without, inexplicably had tomatoes (to which I am allergic) and was missing the sausage. I couldn't eat it at all. Instead of the cheese curds I ordered, I received soggy fries.
I spent over $50 for this order and ended up eating a cold bowl of cereal. The complete lack of care, attention to detail, and customer service at Native Wings Marley Park is appalling. I wasted valuable time and money and was left with no edible dinner. I strongly advise others to reconsider ordering from...
Read moreForget this place. The food is just mediocre and prices high for the quality. Take the margarita pizza.... if so much as one slice is missing or has very little tomato, it ceases to be a "margarita" pizza. If there is no "fresh" basil, it ceases to be a margarita pizza. Well, that's the way it's served here for what ever reason. It could just be clueless "young people" manning the kitchen (like a lot of places) and they just don't any better, haven't been trained correctly, or merely following the restaurant's poor choice and quantity of ingredients. Even if you order extra tomato, they take the order like they're going to make it happen, but when you get it, it's the same old pizza with 5-6 slices of tomato on an 8-slice pie. So basically what you get is cheese and crust. There's not even any basil "leaves" like a true, authentic margarita, just a sparse sprinkling of dried basil "flakes" with zero flavor. Please, Native, don't advertise something that's NOT! And when it comes to the wings, I have no doubt that they cook them up fresh, but they're usually just barely done and on the chewy side, far from fall-off-the-bone scrumptious. This isn't just one or two visits either, it's every visit and I've finally made up my mind to not return, especially since the prices are in that "just too high for what you get" range. Oh, and the beer is on the pricy side too. Not outrageously expensive, but pricy. Try $5.75 for a "small" Blue Moon that can be knocked down in 6-7 gulps. That's a buck a swallow not including a tip, for beer! So to go there (by yourself) and watch a ball game, have a few beers and a meal, you can easily spend $50-60 all by yourself and walk out with a small take-home box, and I'm not a big person with a big appetite. And if you go there with your "family", stay away from the bar area! You've been warned! Their regulars are loud, rude, crude, act like they own the joint and that nobody else exists. On game day it ceases to be a "family restaurant" unless your kids grew up in a crude household and are used to it. These are all facts...
Read moreI absolutely love wings, and native is no exception! They have some really delicious flavors, and a nice variety of food on their menu. I've only been here a couple times, and while I love their wings, one of the biggest issues I have noticed is their heat levels are not on par with other wing places. I got some wings last time in the hot category, so id expect at least some fair spice, but I didn't feel anything bit a slight tingle. Something I'd expect more at the mild to medium level, but definitely too mild to be classified as hot. So just be mindful. If you like spicy foods. I'd recommend choosing something in a higher level than you might normally choose.
My only other point of concern from the 2 times I've been to the restaurant is that both times service was slow, and we were missing a smaller item. The last time, it wasn't too significant, but we asked for a side of the ghost pepper sauce to sample, and never received it. We asked about it 2 additional times after it didn't come out with our order. Both times they said they would be right back with it, but didn't. This wasn't an item that cost any extra, so I dont consider it a major issue, but just something to note. As a while I love native and will definitely...
