Four + 1/2 Stars 🌟 with my first visit for breakfast on Sunday, February 23rd. Took a seat at the counter as they were busy, and people were waiting to sit at a table. The menu is rather large with a lot going on. I settled for the Spinach & Feta Omelet that came with home fried potatoes and toast (biscuit). $13.95. I had water and a large O.J. ($4.25) with my meal. The omelet was fine. Fresh spinach, and feta cheese. Not a fluffy omelet as it was prepared on the griddle. Still a large omelet made with three eggs. I thought I’d try the cinnamon roll. That was a mistake of monstrous proportions, because it’s HUGE! It was good; with loads of icing. Others oohed and ahhed at the sight of it. Honestly, you could feed four on this monstrous treat ($8.99). I boxed the pastry for home. Before settling my tab I ordered two soups To Go. The soup of the day was lemon chicken and rice soup. The Greeks would call this Ovgolemono soup. They were $4.79 each for 16 oz servings. Well worth taking home, and easy to reheat. The soup is delicious. Everything was enjoyed, and the service was very good. Total before tax was $36.77. Parking is ample as it was Sunday. Seating is spacious, and the restaurant is clean; including the restrooms. This was a very nice discovery as I’m new to the area. I’m looking forward to trying more of the menu.

Update: Came back Monday for breakfast, and had the corned beef hash (Tasha Touch $14.89). It was good, and as I paid my check I grabbed two soups to go. One chicken noodle; the other lemon chicken and rice. Both were good soups… the chicken noodle tasted a bit salty. Tab for breakfast was about $18.64 before the soups and tax. Total for the day was $30.99.

Update: Came back Tuesday. I wanted to try their Belgium Waffle (Belly Dimples $9.99). Sides of sausages ($3.79) and two eggs ($3.99) were added. Everything was good. With a fountain beverage the tab came to...

Highly disappointed with our entire experience here. We went to Nick's Diner II on a Sunday morning roughly around 9am. I already anticipated a wait that was not a big deal as we heard so many good things about the food here. Worth the wait right? So wrong. As we were seated after the 35 min wait (again all OK), My family and I were not asked for our drink order until about 20 min of sitting there waiting. Our waitress makes her way over takes our drink order and ofc we have our food order ready. She proceeds to take our order then returns about 15 later with our drinks, and walks away. We wait another 40 minutes before our food is there mind you we can see multiple orders stacking up under the heated lamps and no organization of them getting to the customers table. Then our food finally arrives and it is cold. I am not being picky cold I mean no warmth to it cold. Not just mine but, my family's as well. I tell the waitress she says I apologize I will throw it in the MICROWAVE!!!! Seriously Cause I could of ate some frozen breakfast sandwich if that is what I was paying for. I said No, Thank You. She said I will take some money off the bill I said Fine. As I look over I see another customer and his wife complaining of the same thing so much so I asked them is yours cold? They said Ice cold. Then they literally walked out. Left the food and the bill unfortunately. So I get the Bill and she comped $2.00 literally $2.00 I was shocked. The service was not mindful and rushed if you don't have the staff don't open at the busiest time of day and when customers wait patiently you should provide exceptional service and good food to say the least. I was so patient and was actually excited from what I heard of this place but, it was not even worth the gas.I hope you find more help or figure it...

We’ve officially found our favorite restaurant in the entire West Valley – AZ Diner in Surprise, AZ! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and feels just like sitting down in mom’s kitchen. It’s cozy, unpretentious, and filled with the delicious smells of home-cooked comfort food.

What really sets AZ Diner apart is their phenomenal service. The staff treats every guest with genuine kindness, and it’s clear they truly care about making your experience memorable. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you’ll feel right at home.

Friday afternoons are especially something to look forward to – their all-you-can-eat fish fry is absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. And as if that wasn’t enough, every guest on Fridays gets a free piece of homemade pie! And these aren’t just any pies – thanks to the New York West Bakery and Café on Grand Ave (owned by the wife of AZ Diner’s owner), the desserts are out-of-this-world good. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite.

Between the unbeatable food, the heartwarming atmosphere, and the incredible people running it all, AZ Diner has become more than just a restaurant for us – it’s a favorite gathering spot and a place that truly feels like home.

Highly, highly recommended to anyone in the West Valley or just passing through. You won’t be...

Nicks diner II. Gyro and a side cup of clam chowder. I know, and unlikely combination. The clam chowder was the highlight of this lunchtime meal. I’m sure it was pre-prepared as I really doubt anyone in that kitchen would take the time and effort to make real homemade clam chowder. But it did taste all right...stale crackers... Now on to the gyro. I have been on a quest to find a decent gyro on the west side of the valley since I moved here a couple years ago. I have come to the conclusion that it just doesn’t exist. (Anymore) But at least Nicks uses real Gyro meat, so there’s that. The problems with Gyro are as follows: the onions were so stringy and bitter that I couldn’t eat them and that’s saying something. The tomatoes are rock hard, and the Tzatziki tasted off. Like it had soured. The Gyro meat itself tasted just OK, but the pita bread was the best component of the whole sandwich. All of that said, this Gyro was better than their competitors with their “New and improved“ fake processed “meat”. I noticed some other dishes going out from the kitchen that looks pretty good so I may go back to Nick’s at some point to try something else. But this is not a place for gyros. I guess Peta wraps will have to do if I want a Gyro and don’t want to drive to the other side of the valley. Dang I wish we had a real diner in surprise.

The country fried steak was well cooked and still had a crunch which was nice. The over medium eggs were cooked well, though I asked for them to be more crispy. The “hash browns” country potatoes were the best things on the plate. Well seasoned, crunchy and not dry. The kids pancake was large, and plenty for my growing kiddo. 9/27/22 - The owner replied stating that I need to communicate what I want and that the servers aren’t mind readers. They were not rude but I’m very confused. I DID ask that my fried eggs be crispy and it wasn’t. The bacon was crispy which I like, it wasn’t a complaint. I put “hash browns” country potatoes because some people still call them hash browns. Your food wasn’t bad at all. Just not something I haven’t had at other restaurants. Read the reviews more carefully. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part and their food is different and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!
