I work on aircraft at various airfields across the country for a living which is what brought me to Sussex, New Jersey. Not long after my arrival there I came across Emily’s Hearth and decided to check it out. I walked in, was greeted formally by a lady at the front and found myself seated at a table not far from the main stage with live music. The crowd was wonderful. The atmosphere was about as ideal as one could imagine on a Friday evening in rural New Jersey. Emily, (the owner) emerged from the kitchen not long after and introduced herself followed by doing her absolute best to brighten my day after a long cold venture at the airport. She gave me a menu for options and literally stated every single ingredient to each pie offered verbatim and with passion. I made my choice and within 15 minutes had it in front of me fresh out of the fire to my delight. It was DELICIOUS! So much to point I decided to order another to-go. While there I noticed the staff in the kitchen scurrying back and forth (I would later discover some of them to be her actual family members) behind the scenes doing their best to keep up with the demand. I could tell they were intent on ensuring customers had the utmost experience. As a Floridian coming to what felt like a town in the middle of nowhere, Emily did her very best to make it feel like home for me. She took care of everyone in attendance that evening and at one point joined in on the live music from the stage by grabbing an instrument herself and playing along. I loved that. So much.. She didn’t just feed everyone there that night and make sure we all had live entertainment, her heart and overall joy for what she loves in the industry was on full display. And that, ladies & gents, is enough not just for me but for anybody who recognizes hard work and PASSION for what they do to continue coming back. Would recommend....
Read moreThis is such a special unique place and vibe. I’m not a big pizza lover and Emily’s pizza converts me! Her pizza is so delicious and I love the different toppings that she finds locally grown in the county. The quality ingredients makes such a difference and I wish more places did this, especially since we are in a very farm and nature county. The live music, lighting and colors of her space also makes such a welcoming and unique experience. Has such a community and artist vibe. We need more local owned businesses like these in our county. Pizza Hut is everywhere and doesn’t have quality ingredients. We don’t need more big franchises but local owned businesses that supports community and gives kids and families a place to bond with quality food and live music. It’s such a beautiful space and amazing food. I...

The dough is specially prepared to enhance digestion and its just fantastic 😋 Grace was the face of the franchise and took my order and ensured everything was seamless. They prepare many unique pizzas like beet and carrot as well as a strawberry pie. They also have the old favorites like cheese and margherita if you aren't feeling adventurous. The beet pie and strawberry pie were equally dazzling and the meat pie was delicious 😋 They are only open Friday and Saturday so stop in and support this...
