Friendly's — Restaurant in Swatara Township

Went here for my friends birthday dinner. Definitely more of a laid back diner you can bring your children to, bathrooms were clean, most of the staff were friendly. Manager was the sweetest, food was great, although I have some complaints. Our server was downright unbelievably rude. We first were sat (by a different employee) and our server came up to us with an attitude, and didn't even ask if we would like more time to order. She came back with one drink (my milkshake) and threw the straw on the table. I said thank you, she walked away with a smug look on her face. She came back with the rest of our drinks, throwing the straws. (I know, not that big of a deal but it gets worse) and we ordered our meals. My friend ordered 2 plates of boneless wings. She comes back with bone-in wings. As she's putting one of the plates down, she spills ranch all over my shoes (which were new) and inside my friend's drink. She walked away quickly as if not to acknowledge it, knowing she saw it. We again said thank you and she said absolutely nothing and rolled her eyes. The next time she comes around asking if everything is alright, my friend asked for a new drink because she spilled ranch in it, and my other friend asked for some napkins because she spilled ranch all over my new shoes. Not a single word comes out of her mouth, and she looked us up and down and went "Mhmm" and went to grab our drink and napkins. She once again threw the straw. I complained to the manager, he apologized and I came back later to go home (we stopped at target) and our server was nowhere to be found. No manners and downright disrespectful. Seats were also very dirty and weren't cleaned between customers, my friend sat in ice cream, and menus aren't cleaned between customers either, my friend kept touching what we believe was hardened chocolate ice cream on her menu. Don't think I'd ever go here again, they used to be much friendlier...

Came here July 2nd 2024 for a late night dessert, after being out of almost every ice cream we ended up settling for the nacho ice cream which was alright. The reason I come with a 1 star is because of what I watched during my visit. To start my waitress was outstanding. I'm nearly possitive she is the only person actually doing work at the place. (I'm sorry I would say your name if I remember, slightly bigger lady,) Anyways after walking in took about 4 minutes for 2 ladies and what I assume the manager in a green shirt to look up from the kids menu that they were so focused on drawing for us to be seated. After being seated we where given our drinks and food in proper timing. The thing that still does not sit with me is just how dirty everything is, I watched the guy in green shirt go over and "clean off a table" which included walking over taking off dirty dishes and walking away. No wiping or anything. The floors at the time where aso filthy. The best part about all of this was the only lady working was our waitress. For about the first 15 minutes of us sitting there the manager talked to two other ladies at the bar while the two ladies just saw and drew pictures. It to me seemed like our waiter was in charge of making our ice cream and our food as she would disappear for some time and then return with all the food while the other girls didn't do anything. I wish our waitress the best if you ever get the chance to read this, I hope you can find better! To management, maybe look into where your money is going, as a business owner myself I would be ashamed to see management sitting and talking to employees and almost encouraging lack of work going on in the facility. I would have no problem if I walked in and the place was all clean, my biggest thing is if they are too lazy to clean where all the customers can see what does it look like where...

We've been coming to this location for a long time, but today will definitely cause me to second guess if we will be back. For starters, when we walked in, the first thing we saw was the girl behind the ice cream bar, fluffing her hair everywhere. We had 100% planned on getting ice cream, but that changed our minds pretty quickly without a doubt. Then every time we would look over there, her hands were in her hair, twirling it in her fingers, pulling strands out and dropping them on the floor. Then she would immediately go from touching her hair, to making someone's sundae 🤢 Secondly, there was one server for the lunch rush. I understand call offs happen, but according to a staff member, this was the 3rd day in a row that there was only one server. Third, it took us 20 minutes from sitting down to get the right menu, 30 minutes to have our order taken, and over an hour of sitting there to get our food. Once we had our food, I was served the wrong meal. It had to be sent back and I had to wait for the correct meal. I finally thought everything was well once I had the right meal, and then my daughter and I both found what looked to be cat hair in our fries. Our empty cups were overlooked the entire time we were eating, so we paid $6 to each only have 1 drink. Disgusted at this point after finding the hair, i just wanted to pay our bill and leave. Then the bill comes, and we were charged for an extra meal. The server did as well as she could, given the hand she was dealt. However, I definitely do not think we will be having anymore lunches or dinners at this location for awhile. Feels like $50 went right down the drain today...
