On 11/23 at 7:05 pm my husband placed an order on the Teriyaki Madness app. According to online, the store is said to close at 9 pm. When we arrived, it was already closed but the charge was pending. I figured, silly me, that they would not actually charge me for the food I didnt receive, but to my shock the transaction posted to our bank account on Friday. My husband went up there and was told the cashier did not know how to refund the transaction and he would have to come back after 4 when the manager was there. However, he couldn't make it back up there until today due to scheduling conflicts. He calls 1st and is told by the cashier that they can't refund the transaction because "the buttons are grayed out". He asks to speak to a manager, who tells him the same thing and says there is nothing they can do about it. Nevermind the fact that at this point, this establishment has stolen my money, they have yet to offer an apology or any type of goodwill gesture. They have blamed the owner for not turning off the app, they have blamed the system for not being able to do the refund, and they have left poorly trained employees in there alone with no ability to assist customers. So, my husband calls corporate as according to the "manager" that is the only thing WE can do to rectify THEIR error and gets voicemail. So, here we are with them still having our money, us having no food, and no immediate resolution pending for the whole issue. Do not spend 1 dime of your hard earned money at this place. My next call is to my bank to report this company's fraud, then the BBB to report their unethical business practices. *Update after contacting corporate, my husband received a call from the GM yesterday, who issued the refund without him having to go...
Read moreI was a real big fan of Teriyaki Madness when I first discovered it in Chambersburg and was delighted when it came to Swatara. However, the past few times I have been here I have seen a decline in quality of both the restaurant and it's food. This franchise feels like it's on the decline. Outside, the temporary signage is tattered, there are only 2 light bulbs on while the remaining 25 or so light bulbs are off in the dining room. Many of the tables were dirty from the lunch hour, but still dirty in the empty restaurant when we came in the afternoon. I asked the attendant if she could wash our table and she did, but did not take the time to wash any other tables. This restaurant needs to up it's game since there are many great restaurants around it (Panera, Moe's, 5 Guys, Chick-fil-A). They need to consistently wash the tables and turn the lights on showing that they are open for business. Additionally, the fried rice I paid for did not appear completely done. It was a mixture of white rice and fried colored white rice, so it tasted steamed and not fried (mushy). I really want to like this place, but it's going to take a lot of effort on the restaurants part to step up it's game to match the other...
Read moreMy experience is pretty much the same as other reviewers. And we walked in there was nobody else in the store but one employee he did greet us and tell us he would be right with us as he finished washing dishes or something I don't know. Came out he was very pleasant taking our order informed us that kids eat free on Sundays which was a pleasant surprise. But then it took for ever to get our food. The crab rangoon was tasty, but there was too much wrapper which made the whole thing taste dry. The chicken teriyaki and the steak teriyaki were lackluster at best. It's almost as though they left the food in the pan for so long that not only did the steak dry out but the teriyaki sauce burned to charcoal all of the steak tainting the flavor of the entire dish. I usually try to give a restaurant at least two attempts before writing them off, however very little was redeeming enough about this place to make the drive worthwhile. If you are truly in need of a teriyaki fix, go to the grocery store, pick up a generic teriyaki sauce and make your own. I think you will have a much...
