They charged me $9 for a drink I needed to raise my blood sugar. I am diabetic, and when my blood sugar goes too low, I need to drink something sugary. I usually have something on me, but when I don’t, I ask whoever’s around to help. At many restaurants, they let me get a glass of juice or a soda on the house. It’s purely for medical reasons. I asked them for a drink to raise my sugar, told them I didn’t care what it was (juice, soda, anything), that I needed it for medical reasons, and the guy recommended to me that I have a glass of watermelon juice. I took his suggestion. Then they came up to me and charged me over $9 dollars for that single glass of juice. If I was going to pay, I would’ve rather had a can of coke and paid what I’m assuming would’ve been much less than $9. This man gave me a bad suggestion that led to me paying a ridiculous amount for a single glass of juice, when he knew I just needed it for medical reasons and could’ve had a drink for like $2 with the same effect. I was insulted and this left a very bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. I will not be returning to...
Read moreThis location is by far the most disappointing Sushi Sake I have ever visited. The food is consistently bland and lacks freshness, while the servers are inattentive and unprofessional. The bartenders are particularly concerning not only are they dismissive and unskilled, but they also fail to properly check ids, when clearly the customers look UNDERAGE and it is clear that policies are not being enforced.
The establishment itself is poorly maintained. The kitchen and bar areas appear unsanitary, with flies visible at the bar tops. The lack of managerial oversight is obvious, as there seems to be no accountability for staff performance or cleanliness standards.
Given that this restaurant is located in a college area, one would expect higher standards and stricter compliance with basic hospitality and safety practices. Instead, it feels neglected on every level from the chefs to the management team. Urgent improvements in food quality, staff training, and overall operations are needed if this location wants to uphold even a fraction of the Sushi Sake brand’s reputation. Will not be...
Read moreI’ve been eating sushi sake since they first opened on 147 and bird road, this FIU location I’ve been to twice since it’s next to my house. By far the worst sushi sake I’ve been to. I came both times in lunch the first time was bad and the second time was even worse. I don’t know if it’s only the lunch crew cause I haven’t given dinner a chance but my food BOTH times were bland I ordered from the hibachi menu, my miso soup had no flavor, my fried rice tasted like regular rice, the shrimp tasted like shrimp and butter, my plate also came with a bunch of very light brown juice all over the place and it wasn’t appetizing at all. Really disappointed and wish I never spent my money but I am not one to cause a show. I hope this message can find the management and they can take action into making this location better....
