I was pleased to know they were open later on Christmas Eve when most places were closed. I was also happy about them delivering even though I should have went and got it.
The lady who took my delivery was super sweet but had a HUGE language barrier, which made it hard for her to understand me when I was giving my address. So much so, it took us several time repeating, several calls and even a text for them to get the address correct and the food delivered.
I ordered 2 Hibachi Steak & Shrimp dinners with 4 or 6 Crab Rangoon and 2 egg rolls. The total came up to 50 bucks plus tip. The amount of food they gave for that price was mismatched. The container had the larger side for meat and rice and the other side (smaller) was for veggies. When I opened the container, there was a thin layer of steak and shrimp (maybe 8 small pieces of steak and even less shrimp) and the smaller side had veggies. It was like getting a lunch special for dinner, at a dinner price. I was not happy but it was to late to call because I ordered close to their closing time. I'm not a big portion eater but this was crazy for the priced. If this was a lunch special or perhaps it was 25 or 30 bucks, I would have nothing to say. But this felt like a bait and switch situation because I looked at the pictures online before ordering. This location hasn't been open that long.... maybe several months. The last place that was there was my favorite Chinese restaurant to eat at. And although I know this is Japanese, this is not really Hibachi...... its more like the Chinese restaurant that was there before, with more options.
And please know, I understand the pricing for food has increased, that is why I had no problem paying the amount for "Hibachi" in a strip mall, but make it make sense. 50 dollars for mostly rice........and I'm not exaggerating......I wish I took pictures. :(
As far as the taste, it was good food. But I would recommend eating in and seeing if the portions make more sense for...
Read moreFYI, this is Americanized Asian. Don’t go here expecting authentic delicacies. But for Americanized Asian, it hits the spot. Quick, fast ordering through the Clover QR code was better than standing in line. They’ll call you when it’s ready. Nice wide set tables but lacks a lot of decor.
They focused mainly on fried rice and hibachi (with choice of lo mein or fried rice). For the hibachi: choose a meat, choose a side, choose a sauce. Pretty quick and easy. Appetizer of gyoza dumplings were pretty good but the takoyaki was not. For the takoyaki, if I wasn’t expecting to taste octopus, it was an ok appetizer. I wanted to have octopus, but it lacked a lot of flavor.
The hibachi both had plenty of meat and a decent amount of veggies. I tried the steak hibachi, chicken hibachi, and combo lomein. The lomein didn’t have a lot of veggies like the hibachi—I would have ordered a side of veggies if it was available, but it was not on the menu.
They had some interesting drinks beyond the normal soft drinks. I don’t know much about these but I’ll...
Read moreThe food is about par for take-out asian food. Decent portions, but be warned about a few things... Sometimes i've gotten jalapenos in an order - which was not ordered, and is NOT on the list of vegetables to add/subtract. So make sure to check or definitely ask for them to not include it if you have a "heat" issue with your food. Finally - and this pisses me off... When you place a to-go order, it automatically adds a "tip" percentage to the bill - but when you go to pay for the food, they give you a "touch screen" that THEN asks if you'd like to place a tip on the final total that already has the tip amount on it - most people think it's what they placed the order for, but when I got home, I realized it was NOT the same as the online receipt. Thats shady as hell, and they know they are doing it, which just makes it even worse. So - if you're getting carry out, MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK THE $$...
