Haven't been to Cincinnati in a few years, but wanted to try Kinneret Grill as I'd heard they'd evolved from a dairy joint to a meat place. I remember when Avner began the venture, and it's good to see they're still around, and with a much improved ambiance. We stopped by on the first night of Hanukkah around 7 PM after requesting a reservation. Our table was kindly saved, but they did not seem overly busy, with only 2 or 3 other tables occupied. I asked the waitress if Avner was around, and apparently he's around during the lunch shift, while his wife Karen is there after lunch. We sat down and placed our orders. It seemed to take a bit of time for our order to come, but we had the time and enjoyed an IPA until our food arrived. In keeping with the Hanukkah theme, we got the Latkes, which were delicious and fried very properly. For our actual dinners, we ordered the Mediterranean plate and the Bacon Burger. While the burger was absolutely juicy and delicious (with serviceable fries), the Mediterranean plate was far more mediocre. Many, if not all, items from that plate were readily identifiable by taste as the prepackaged goods I always get from the store, rather than fresh offerings. Overall, I'd like to come by again and give them another shot if I'm in the area, but the impression I walked away with is that the food is hit or miss here.

Coming from the kosher food havens of NYC and the DC area gives one a high bar for kosher expectations; Kinneret Grill meets those expectations and leaves a traveler passing through Cincinnati quite satisfied. Atmosphere is nice; you’re met with a large and lovely overhead photo of the Kinneret that makes for a great piece of art upon entering a clean and cozy eatery that has a nice Israeli feel. The owner continues that Israeli hospitality and friendliness, very welcoming to a kosher traveler. My son and I availed ourselves of the lunch specials, and liked them so much we ordered seconds! The burgers, schnitzels, and schwarma all hit the spot. Absolutely would recommend this place; it gets my NYC/DC/Baltimore/Israel kosher food seal of approval!

Quick and pleasant service. Ordered the chicken shawarma and rice as well as the Mediterranean plate. Two cokes. Was a little surprised at the small portion of the chicken shawarma at $25 a plate. We were informed they were out of rice and chose fries as an alternative. Chicken shawarma was delicious - blend of spices was very flavorful. The fries, sadly, were the star of the plate. Mediterranean plate was good - best falafel I have ever had! The hummus was a little watery, pita was excellent. Stuffed grape leaves were good. Babaganoush was a little bland, but better with salt. The cucumber and tomato salad was a wonderful fresh addition to the platter. I’m adding the updated menu as it is no longer four pages and MANY items have been removed.

It must be nice to be the only kosher meat restaurant in a metro area because there is no motivation to provide good food or service. We are in town visiting and we went there for a nice meat meal after several days of dairy on the road. There were 6 of us at the table with 2 children. If I lived in town I would not be going back. They had 1 waitress working the entire place. She was kind enough but all she did was make excuses. We sat down at 6:15 and we did not get our hummus appetizer, which apparently they ran out of soon after, until 7:15. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied so it was not bustling. I am not sure how or why it took so long to prepare Hummus but given the ingredients I could have scratch cooked our entire meals in a fraction of that time. Again, when we arrived there were 2 other tables of 2 and maybe 1-2 small orders picked up during out time there. During our visit they had several more groups come in, some served before us, some getting the constant refrain, "we are out of this." It seems like there was 1 chef in the kitchen preparing all the food on their own. It is also highly problematic that they had 2 small children sitting there for an hour with not even a little bread or anything. We had to push the waitress to get the hot dogs out so they would calm down. As for the food, most of it was OK. The ribeye was properly cooked. The braised short rib was tender with a little wine flavor. The kids hot dogs were hot dogs. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. The Israeli salad was what you would expect. The green beans were overcooked, unseasoned and tasted like nothing. The worst and most impressive thing was how they got the mashed potatoes to taste like they came from a powder out of a box. I don't often leave something completely uneaten but they were inedible. How you can serve a $50 steak with such artificial swill is beyond me. I get it, they are the only...

Very poor service, overpriced and most of the food not good. No one came to check on us after giving us our food. No drink refill on a 6oz water. Tacos gross and my kid wouldn't eat them. I took them home because they were so expensive but had to wrap them in the aluminum foil from my meal because no one checked on us to give us a box. Coleslaw tasted like cabbage mix right from a bag with no seasoning. Coleslaw and a sandwich not worth $12. I tried putting our empty glasses on the end of table, I hung my credit card over the edge of the table and nothing. Didn't get any service until I stood up and started walking towards the door. Once the server arrived, I got excuses like they thought we were just hanging out and she had a large table (I think that table had 6 people). I saw another table get service and their check. The restaurant is small and only 4 tables had guests at them. Never again. The server asked if I wanted a gift card to come back. Are...
