We booked for a wedding and truly the worst experience I could have possibly had. They were super engaged when we first inquired about the venue and seemed so involved. We were excited, they said we would get to book the whole venue for a private event at $2500 for the venue plus food. We met in person and booked them with a $500 deposit. The first red flag was that we mailed them a check and asked for the contract and a receipt, they said they would send one. We never received either. I asked multiple times and they said the same thing, "we will get it to you". It never came but they had no issue depositing that check immediately. Then they completely stopped answering us. We tried multiple times to reach out regarding setting up times to do a food tasting and discuss wedding day details. When they would answer, they would keep saying its early we will talk about it later. After a few months of trying to get a response, the owner agreed to a phone meeting. This was in November 2023, which was only 5 months out from our booked date. She kept telling me we will set up something after the new year to discuss details but would not give me a date. Then on the phone she says oh yeah you didn't book the whole venue, it was just the pavilion room. Which is not at all what we discussed at the time of booking. I was furious. Then the next day it gets even better, I see on Facebook that they are CHANGING OWNERSHIP. I talked to them the day before and no one mentioned this. I immediately texted asking what this meant for our event, I was told it was fine. But even better the wedding coordinator was now leaving, who was also scheduled to be our officiant, and we were on our own to find one. At this point I was so over it, we couldn't trust these individuals with what was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives. We decided to cancel and find a new venue. When we told them that were cancelling due to their poor communication their response was "We totally understand", no apology or effort to try to keep us. In conclusion, this is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL establishment, pretty sure they just scammed us for five hundred dollars to fund their...
Read moreI came across this "craft" cocktail lounge while visiting from Charlotte. The interior was tacky it reminded me of a retirement home. I was very confused. The drinks are far from what I would consider a craft cocktail and more like something you would find at Applebee's. Most of their "signature" drinks are things found on the menu at most bars. But the food menu haha wow. The 90s called they want their food back. The worst part was a large group of locals came stumbling in highly intoxicated and where still served. I can't imagine why anyone would want to frequent such a place. That uncle daddy guy 👀 is very odd as well. With the exception of Raymond the bartenders seem clueless. Instead go to Darkmoon...
Read moreQuietly tucked back from the street, dampening the sounds of town, is this lovely place. You walk past the clover and Easter Island head statue in the fountain and climb the stone steps to the wood porch. It makes you think of a tavern, comfortable lighting, with a modern touch, TVs on the walls playing concerts. Craig is friendly and makes mouth watering drinks. My husband had the Peach Whiskey Sour which was delicious and smooth. I had a sweet Piña Colada that was pure summer and then the Lemonade with Créme de Violette which was my favorite. We ordered the steak tacos which came with a fantastic sauce and chips with fresh salsa. A lovely way to spend...
