Weekend Itinerary for Sylva, NC ⤵️ Ollie and I had a blast exploring @discoverjacksonnc and were able to see so much over just one weekend! Here’s everything we got up to (save for future planning):  🌅Sunset at Waterrock Knob - you can watch from the parking lot or take the .9-mile trail up for a quieter experience 🥘 Eat at @meatballspizzeria , @lucy_intherye , @lazyhikerbrewingsylva , & @whitemoonsylva 🛍️Explore downtown Sylva- there are so many cute shops and stores! 🍻 Grab a beer at @innovationbeer 🍃 Hammock in the trees with @enohammocks near Soco Falls 🥾 Hike to Mingo Falls 🌳Tackle the Pinnacle - this is a tough trail but the almost 360-degree views at the top are 100% worth it. You can also do just a section and enjoy the woods, set up a an @enohammocks , and relax by the river Sylva is just one of MANY incredible towns in Jackson County. I love exploring this area whether it’s seeing the dam release at High (Cullowhee) Falls or driving down to Cashiers to check out the tallest waterfall in NC, Whitewater Falls. Whatever you choose to do here you won’t be disappointed! This whole area is incredibly dog-friendly which is always a bonus for me. Plus, it’s a mecca for outdoor adventure lovers and waterfall seekers. Have you been to this part of North Carolina? I called in to order, was told they don't take orders over the phone to use the online ordering. I decided to just order in person. I went in and ordered two things for breakfast that they had on their website that I was going to order over the phone. The guy working the counter seemed confused by my order of toast with jam and a smoothie. The menu on their website is not their menu? After a long convoluted process of putting the order in the guy tells me they only have orange marmalade and included is a picture of the EXACT amount of marmalade I paid $1.50 for. Honestly like smaller than a medicine cups worth. Covered maybe one slice of their 2 smallish sourdough toast slices they gave me if I really stretched it. Then he tells me no pineapple for the smoothie and instead of offering money back or an alternative, he told me to find another ingredient on their menu. It's also weird they present themselves as being a very independent local place with fresh ingredients, but for my smoothie pulled out a bag of frozen Dole brand berries. Also there was like 4 customers in a place that can't take phone orders? This whole experience cost me $15. No clue how they have such high star rating, but y'all need to demand more out of your eating establishments if you think this is acceptable.

Continued changes at white moon with another new menus revamp. They've added back some old favorites, the lox bagel and the moon bowl. Adding a build your own sandwich as well! I hope this new menus sticks around. (4/12/22) The recent menu overhaul immediately makes me miss the old dishes. There use to be a breakfast burrito that was absolutely amazing. Though the biggest and most desirable meal was the salmon bagel that was on the menu. It was delicious, so much that I had tried replicating it at home. The switch to the salmon toast with cucumber yogurt, curried carrots on sourdough toast most does not even compare. Also the wifi that was once offered. Coffee shop without wifi just doesn't make sense. It's still a very lovely and relaxing place, just a weird switch to things that seemed to be working.

For all the tea drinkers out there, White Moon is definitely the place to be - they are the main place to go for loose leaf tea in Sylva, and they give you a traditional pot and a ceramic cup rather than a mug with a premium teabag in it like most coffee shops around here do. Their loose leaf tea is provided by Asheville Tea co. and they have a wide variety. Their breakfast bagels and sandwiches are divine, and their baked goods are delectable with plenty of vegan and gluten free options! This place has a great vibe with lots of plants and pretty warm lighting. It's pretty quiet from 7 to 8 AM, but after that it gets very popular for the rest of the morning. Due to size, it gets a little loud and crowded and they play their music a little louder during peak hours so studiers be advised to bring noise cancelling headphones if you like quiet and try to get there early to get a big table if you like sprawling with tons of notebooks and textbooks out like I do. Staff is very friendly, and drinks are made quick. Anything can be ordered for here, so you can have your pretty little mug or glass on your table while studying and feel all fancy and zen. Free water at all times. Great place to study if you don't mind the noise, even better place to have brunch or a warm drink with a friend ! Now if only they could give us steep timers with our...
