If youāre looking for brunch, please just save yourself the stomach ache and go over to Lucyās. 2/5 only because Iāve had worse. First off, the place is dirty. The ācleanā dishes (cups, mugs, and cutlery) had grime and food bits stuck on them. Youāre also expected to bus your own table, which is fine, Innovation has you do that too, but the bus stations were FULL and gross. They ask you to tip directly after ordering, for literally just taking your order, and as other reviewers stated, not checking on you. They also had a literal child taking orders and he was very sweet, doing his best, but the woman standing over him was uncomfortably overbearing. We got a brunch salmon avocado bowl and the gorgeous bowl. When ordering a breakfast bowl I did not expect to get fair food - I thought it would be restaurant quality or at least dinner quality. I donāt think Iāve ever had brown rice that actively tasted bad. Not just meh, the food here was bad. Everything was saturated, literally dripping with grease, under-seasoned, the biscuits were both over and under cooked at the same time, the kale was hard, the āpotatoesā in the gorgeous bowl were burnt house chips, the cheese was pizza cheese (? Or something else weird and hard), the eggs were rubbery and hard and weird, the coffee was super watery, etc etc etc. The food made both of our stomachs hurt pretty quickly, too. In no way shape or form worth $14 for the salmon bowl and $10 for the āgorgeousā bowl (which was hilariously ugly, should have taken a picture). Also not ADA. As an individual with mobility issues, if I was having a bad flare up the place would have been a nightmare to navigate with a cane let alone a walker or chair, because it was so cramped and the floor was uneven both out and inside. Iāve had a lot of ājust okā experiences, but this was legitimately a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey forgot an order when we were done eating, i went to tell them they didnāt deliver said order and was going to make another order for something else to go. Asked for refund during purchase of togo order; person taking orders apologzed profusely for food not coming but cannot understand that I would like a refund? Kitchen hears my man taking orders blue screening and rushes out the item that was forgotten. I realize I am not getting any where and the order that was forgotten was my toddlers meal. I insist on paying for a different item as my toddler is about to start WW3 in the street. At this point i stopped caring about the refund of 10$ to at least get her meal started in the kitchen and relieve the line behind me waiting. As my wife was leaving she was told the forgotten item was delivered so no refunds. And we should just take our food with us. Got a great reference to try your place and was hoping for it to be our new local pizza place. I am good. Wish i would have read the reviews prior hand. It also felt like a dog cafe, while in line a dog got defensive and snapped at my toddler ; owner asked if she was ok but the damage is doneā¦seems to be asking for an accident in a establishment that serves food and alcohol? I feel bad for that kitchen also!!! No AC !?! The real heroās are the people making the food. End your customer service and start over. Do not bring your child if they are under 7. If you do come early and camp seats like everybody else that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDITED: I really want to give Mad Batter five stars because as a vegan, the options for dining in rural areas like this are pretty limited. There are some pretty great restaurants in Sylva but Iām talking about this one so here we go. Iām giving this place one star because I donāt appreciate being asked if I want to leave a tip. Itās intrusive, and considering that you have to bus your own table, they donāt refill your drinks, and I think out of the many MANY times that we have eaten there someone has checked on us one time while dining. And by checking on I mean āDo you need anythingā I.e. earning the tip youāve asked for. I also donāt appreciate being up charged a ghastly amount for vegan cheese ON A PATTY MELT which should automatically come with vegan cheese. Thatās what makes it a patty melt. Otherwise itās just a burger on toast. The staff has always been nice, and Iām starting to feel a little bit guilty that Iām only giving this place three stars but Iām going to stand by it. Also the vegan donuts, leave very much to be desired. Itās nice that theyāve added it to the menu but essentially it seems like itās just pizza dough fried in rolled in cinnamon sugar. And to be fair, they are donut HOLES (at least s when we order even) , not actual donuts. Doughnut fanatics like myself definitely know the difference. EDIT: turns out the vegan donuts are not vegan, nor is the fries or the chips. Anything that is fried with animal products is not...
