Sonic has certainly fallen from the heights it once enjoyed. I hadn’t been to a Sonic in a very long time, but while talking with my friend, they mentioned a drink called the Lemon Cream Cooler, which I’d never heard of. Intrigued, we decided to stop by and give it a try.
I’ll say this upfront: I wouldn’t go to Sonic again for the food. The quality has seriously declined, the portion sizes are underwhelming, and overall, the experience was far from enjoyable. I ordered the Cheesy Bacon Supersonic Combo with tater tots and a large Cherry Lemonade.
To Sonic’s credit, the drinks remain its strongest point—they’ve never disappointed me, and this visit was no exception. My Cherry Lemonade was refreshing and flavorful, as expected. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The biggest issue I have with Sonic’s food is that most of it desperately needs more seasoning. The flavors are bland and uninspired, leaving little to enjoy. On top of that, if you’re going to call a burger the Cheesy Bacon Supersonic, it should live up to the name. This sandwich fell short in every way. The bacon was incredibly thin, barely tasted like bacon, and lacked the crispy, thick-cut quality you’d expect. The cheese was another letdown—the amount was minimal, and their cheese selection felt uninspired and unimpressive.
Sonic’s food today lacks the flavor, creativity, and quality that once made it special. If you’re craving a great burger, look elsewhere. If you want an amazing chili cheese hot dog, you’re better off making it at home or finding another spot. Sonic’s food has lost the magic it used to have.
This particular location was clean on the outside, which was nice, but most Sonic locations I’ve seen are not well-maintained. Even though there weren’t many customers, it took a surprisingly long time to prepare our single meal.
Unless I’m stopping by for a drink, I won’t be returning to Sonic anytime soon. While the drinks are consistently good, the food is simply not worth the trip. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone—grab a drink if you’re thirsty, but find somewhere else for your meal. Here’s hoping Sonic can make a full turnaround and reclaim its...
Read moreSo my Husband, our 3 year old daughter Daisy, and I go to Sonic and Daisy was in the back seat singing what sounded like the "Oompa-Oompa" song from Willy Wonka.. I said to Dan "Is she singing what I think she is?" He replies "Yep, Willy Wonka." I laughed and said "Where did she learn that? This conversation was taking place with all four of the car windows rolled down and a lady was walking through the parking lot away from the building, we noticed her but didn't really think much of it, as we were pulling up to the speaker at the drive thru we heard what sounded like someone yelling, again we noticed it but we didn't think much of it and went on with our order. Well when our order comes out I notice this written on the cup! "The "Blueberry\Willy Wonka" is a Manager"... I said something to Dan while the car hop was still standing there his only response being "Oh, I don't know I just bring the orders out." I'm so upset over this I'm in tears, I feel disrespected. I'm in shock. I don't know what exactly to say or do. My feelings are beyond hurt. Why would a Manager write on a cup if she thought customers were being rude? that's unprofessional on so many levels. I feel judged as well. If Dan and I had been speaking about a stranger like that I would be questioning wether or not I know myself, because as far as I knew I'm not a bully and I'm not rude either. I really didn't deserve this and will never go back to Sonic of Sylva, which I know won't affect them any and that's fine. To the manager who thought we were talking about her, please make sure you know what you are talking about before you do something like this again. My 6-month pregnant self hasn't stopped crying since we pulled out of the...
Read moreI tried the Garlic Butter Bacon Burger meal. $10.99. For my taste, it was awful!! Couldn’t swallow one bite. Asked the car hop if I could replace the burger with a plain one. (Which was even cheaper). He said he would have to speak with his manager. “Odd”, I would sorta expect, “I’m sorry you didn’t like your burger. I’ll get a new one out for you right away.” But… Once the manager approached I requested the same from him. He hesitated, did a sorta eye roll and a huff (as if I was trying to weezle a free burger out of him. He demanded the burger back, that I had thrown away in the bag, I did dig it out and return it to him. “Gross” then he stormed off. To that manager: Shame on you for not giving your employees the ability to provide great customer service and to make their paying customers happy. And y’all expect us to tip? I’m sorry I was an inconvenience to you. I’m sorry I did not like your new burger AT ALL!! I should’ve just thrown it in the trash and ate elsewhere. I’m sorry I asked for you for another chance and to make me a burger I could eat. I will not be back to...
