Bob Evans — Restaurant in Sylvania

GRIMEY!!! Was out this way for car related stuff and decided to grab a bite to eat here. Went to the restroom after getting our table; bathrooms were in need of being cleaned up and wiped down. Get back to table and notice the table next to us looked like it hasn’t been swept underneath for a while (not just normal napkins/trash, but a thick layer of dust and dirt). Took about 15 minutes for the waitress to come back and take our order after dropping off drinks. The ambiance of the building is grimey! The picture frame sitting behind us looked like it was covered in a layer of restaurant grease and dust. There was crayon decorating the walls: not unexpected as it is a kid friendly restaurant but that’s what soap and water is for. The mason jar chandelier in front of us looked like it hadn’t ever been dusted. I would have taken a picture of that but someone else got seated there. Service was friendly but slow. My tenders did not taste like the ones I’ve had at other bob evans. Kudos to the waitress for bringing me out a big dish of ranch though! My fiancés sunny side eggs came out shining in a layer of grease. Oh! And my rolls were brought out with my meal, which was really not a problem I’m sure the waitress was busy (previous experience at other Bobs is they bring that out before the meal). My problem was that somehow the tops were extremely hard/stale but the bottoms were damp. Didn’t smell good either. This place needs a DEEP CLEAN!

Bob Evans used to the place to go to get comfort food. I never expected anything out of this world amazing considering it's just Bob Evans but the last three times I went, the food and service was absolutely atrocious.

The restaurant was dead other than our table, which was for two and one other four top who were also dining in.

There was trash and used plates left on the tables near the bathrooms that sat untouched the entire duration of our "meal".

The wait and kitchen staff were just hob knobbing in the kitchen and our server didn't check on us once.

When we finally got our food, it was cold and the bread on my sandwich was burnt but placed face down hiding how blackened the toast was.

When the waitress did finally come back to our table after seemingly ignoring the dine in customers all night, I was able to tell her what was going on with the food. She just said, "oh."

We paid the bill in full and left her a tip but I will not be back.

I could understand if this was a one time occurrence. We all have off days. But this was the third time giving Bob's another chance. Each time the service and food was worse than before.

Is this just standard to the company now or is it just the central location? Either way, I'll save my money and the gastrointestinal upset and just eat at home next time I want some...

No great if I am being honest. Our server was not on her A game, had to ask for clean silverware twice, asked for extra napkins and they never came. Two empty cups on the table and we had to ask for them to be refilled. Food was not great. We both got steak tips and eggs. The bread was either old and hard and they just toasted it longer is hopes to cover up that it was not good bread or they just toasted it entirely too long and it was burnt. No green onions on the steak as it says there was supposed to be on the menu, the steak was just nasty. I’m not sure if it just wasn’t cooked well or if the steak itself was nasty and we got all of 5 pieces of steak. The onions and mushrooms that came with the steak was completely burnt. Order two over medium eggs and they broke the yolk on one of my eggs and tried to hide it under my home fries and other egg. The home fries were alright, not too flavorful of anything but probably the most edible thing on the plate. We send back about 50/70% of both our plates and the waitress didn’t even ask why or what the problem was, told the manager they should invest in a new cook and his result was to take our $3.99 drink off out bill and call it a day. No apologies for the sup-par service or nasty food. Shameful. If I return to a Bob Evan’s it will definitely not be...
