Disappointing to say the least. My step daughter (who has Autism) wanted to go here. Tour went well (or so I thought (we had discussed the fact that she has autism and an IEP through high school)), shadow day went well, entrance exam not so much (told she wasn't allowed scratch paper and had to do everything in her head)...and then the phone call when trying to reschedule a retake of the entrance exam went horribly. Daughter was told several times that the school wasn't right for her for a variety of reasons, the most offensive being that she doesn't have a car or drive (because she is autistic)...Apparently' they don't understand that if they accept federal funding (and since they accept financial aid (Pell grants)) that they need to follow ADA title III section 504...which, requires schools to make reasonable accommodations for recognized disabilities (including in the admissions process), heck the one administrator didn't even know what Autism Spectrum Disorder is. Us as parents advocating for our child facing discrimination were told that we were being rude and attacking them...
Bottom line, this so called "school" is discriminatory and willfully ignoring ADA... students are probably better finding somewhere else, unless they are looking to be trained as discriminatory as well...
Just wonder how their sponsor TIGI and it's parent company would feel about sponsoring discrimination...and what else the school discriminates against.
Either way, my daughter will pursue cosmetology as a career, it just, most definitely won't be in this discriminatory environment. Couldn't force her to attend here at this point, and we will consider anyone trained here as a negative going forward at any...
Read morei’m honestly only giving this a 1/5 just for the sake of who did hair because Natalie ALWAYS does an amazing job and gets me to where i need to be without damaging my hair. But today I went in to get more highlights and i have a lot of hair and permanent color as well. My stylist knows my entire hair history and due to that and where my hair is at condition wise it does take longer to do my hair especially since my hair is on the thicker side. I over heard the “instructors” basically saying to let me leave with getting the tone put in and on top of that telling my stylist to rush my hair which she refused to do thankfully. like i’m honestly so disgusted with the way these “instructors” are choosing to act. My stylist is amazing but I do not recommend coming here unless you know who will be doing your hair because the instructors do not care about results but rather to rush the service instead. they then allowed. not to mention, they also allowed me to leave with my hair, tripping wet without me even being able to see the color or anything, and after I asked if they could blow dry my hair because I would like to see it the instructed looked at me and yelled, absolutely not and then proceeded to blame the stylist like I’m genuinely so upset. DO NOT GO HERE. the picture shows how they allowed me to...
Read moreI made it VERY clear that I wanted golden highlights in the front but NOT so much that I was blonde...just highlights. I actually asked for balayage and showed a picture. My hair looked NOTHING like the picture...they used the wrong root color and I am basically a blonde with a which weird splash of bright clown red on the top of my head. Later I felt itchy under my hair by my neck...there was color CAKED on my nails. Not to mention the color on my face near my ears and hairline. And before you think that was just a student...the instructor did my roots! I am still struggling with hair I am horrified to have on top of my head. I gave this place a second chance after having my hair done pretty decent before but the girl was so slow she said that she would have to reschedule my cut or cut and not style it. So, I had her cut it but she let me leave with a wet head in winter because it was close to 4pm when they close. My daughter didn't get her hair done on time either. Since overall the hair looked good, I went back. I was SOOOO wrong. The savings was not worth it since I will spend more to correct...
