Ok... So normally I don't do reviews or post about my experiences with restaurants, businesses, etc... BUT TODAY is THE DAY!! Frederick and I were looking for a new place to have lunch, somewhere we haven't been and BLACK OWNED.. So of course I go to good ol google and found a long list of BLACK OWNED restaurants, most of which we've never had. So we both decide, "ok Burgers are pretty easy, Ooh La La it is." I'm telling you guys, the owner was so sweet! She welcomed us and asked if we've ever been there before and after telling her it was our first time she offered to answer any questions we had and to take our time looking over the menu.. Her brother who was on the grill also welcomed us and talked to Ro Ro while we ordered (I mean, who can resist him 😊) Anyways, we both ordered our food, went and sat down and waited.. Handmade patties made their way out of the kitchen to the grill and the smell of the HAND CUT fries being made was heaven! Lol đŸ€Ł So our food comes out, fries first and burgers not far behind. The seasoning on the fries was perfect, I believe a custom blend and the burger.... O.M.G!!! Mind blowing! This is a BLACK OWNED restaurant that you have to visit! You will not be disappointed! Just look at the photos!

As previous reviews have indicated, the food speaks for itself. One triple onion crunch burger and two bacon cheeseburgers were ordered for my family and myself. I can't say enough about how delicious the bacon cheeseburgers were. It was so fresh that you could pick out the flavors! With a deli next door, this is a tremendously underappreciated location. We went to the deli and bought beer, which we were allowed to consume at our outdoor table. It was a long wait, but it was well worth it! For waiting so patiently, they handed us a complimentary handcrafted cookie from their wide selection of homemade desserts. Earnest, the grill cook, was also a very charming gentleman with whom we had a wonderful conversation! Please have a look at this location. You will not be sorry.

Oh wow this is pretty disappointing to write this. I honestly was going to let it be but seeing all the negative reviews match my experience and there are tons of positive I just wanted to share. We were excited to give this a try, the reviews are great they’ve been featured in local news. On top of that I love supporting black owned business & I do NOT like “tearing” them down which is why I was so hesitant to want to even write a review. Our wait time was not bad, maybe 20/30 minutes which was totally fine as I saw there was 1 person cooking outside. Smelled delicious. So while I was waiting I was excited I was about to eat their self proclaimed “best burger ever”. We actually were going to go to frisko freeze but decided to go here instead. (I regret that now). The fries were unsalted soggy, and honestly partially raw. So already I wasn’t off to a good start about it but that’s okay certain fry styles aren’t for everyone, however seasoning is. But the point that wasn’t a big deal to me at the time. We finally get to our burgers. Bacon cheeseburgers, that state on the menu they come with mayo (maybe ketchup not sure on that one) it also states it comes on a “Kaiser roll”. When I opened the foil it was a cheesy Kaiser roll feels like that should’ve been disclosed but whatever, I’m checking out the burger and it looks like it’s dry no mayo no nothing I try a bite it taste so dry everything about it. So I pull it apart to see if there’s mayo there’s a little bit of mayo watered down with the pickles juices on the lettuce at the bottom not enough to help. I also discovered they had torn 1 single slice of cheese and split it between the 2 burgers so there was a stripe of cheese going down the middle not barely enough to call a cheeseburger and there was 1 HALF slice of bacon on each burger. Not 1 broken in half on each burger. They put a single piece of bacon between 2 burgers. Also because we pulled our burgers apart we were able to see that, some of the ingredients didn’t look fresh which you obviously were able to tell while eating. The bun was so stale as I chewed the rest of the bite it balled up into a little crusty ball I ended up spitting out. My wife tried hers it was so dry and stale she was washing down every bite with a sip of soda. I’m assuming they left the bag open or something. All and all we ended up throwing all the food out as it just wasn’t fresh and we didn’t have any condiments to even attempt to revive them. We waisted $50 when we could’ve spent 20 at frisko and known what we were getting. I cannot believe we paid almost $50 when it was all said and done. Why the hell could we get a single slice of cheese and a slice of bacon each....

When my friend said she had heard Ohh La La Burger is supposed to be the #bestburgerintacoma, I said hell yea. Cant wait to try it!

The spot is a walk up joint right next to Dave's Meat & Produce. I ordered the hot lips jalapeño jack, my friend ordered the cheeseburger with crispy onion added, and we got an order of hand cut fries to share. Two white peach lemonades too!

My hot lips jalapeño jack burger was DELICIOUS!!! The bun, first off, isnt too bready & didnt get soggy...a jalenpeno kaiser roll. YUM! The meat...was so good and juicy. Its sirloin steak and chuck, it is freshly ground, seasoned and the patties are hand formed! The pepper jack cheese, fresh grilled jalapeño & sweet onions, mixed greens and tomato were a perfect touch. It was so tasty I didnt even care for any ketchup (i love ketchup on my burgers..i know the 1 unfoodie thing of me lol) My friend enjoyed her burger thoroughly too! :)

The hand cut fries were perfectly seasoned...not your average boring salt and pepper seasoning. We tasted garlic, onion and maybe a hint of fennel. We got a mix of fries and chips. Nice to see they dont waste the potato!

The white peach lemonade was, dare I say perfect?!? Not too tart, not too sweet, and just the right hint of white peach. Yum!!!

I will say YES, this is the best burger Ive had in Tacoma. We didnt feel heavy and gross after our meal because everything was literally freaking fresh and made to order!

Everyone sitting outside had such a good vibe and was enjoying their food. Definitely will be back!! #foodielife #FoodieFriday #nomnomnom #foodieheaven #foodiefriends #freshingredientsonly #qualitymeat #supportlocalbusiness #supportsmallbusiness #supportblackownedbusiness #WA #tacoma

Wanted to check this place out after watching them featured on the news. Our visit wasn’t what we expected given the “hype.” Took about 10 minutes waiting in line to order. Since it was our first visit, we didn’t know what to order. A basic menu wasn’t posted so one of the other patrons instructed us to move in front of the line to view a laminated menu at the front counter. They also warned us that the wait will be about 20 minutes, but that was far from the truth. It was finally our turn to order and the cashier did NOT greet or initiate contact, just gave a blank stare. I (the customer) greeted him. We finally get our order which was a 71 minute wait which was very disappointing. Far as the food, the burgers were below average to say the least. The meat was chewy, dry, and thin. They also skimped on toppings which was actually appreciated due to how soggy it was. Lastly, the “fries” were very greasy, soft and were almost just as soggy as the burger toppings. Overall, the (almost $100) lunch was not worth it. The process took 71 minutes from start to finish. An actual restaurant with the same prices and media hype would at least (at the very least) provide some sort of communication as to why an order was taking extremely long. The food was subpar, customer service was lacking and the wait times felt like a bad dream. Staff had no sense of urgency especially after they saw the frustration on our (and other patrons) faces. None at all. It almost felt like intentional punishment to be honest. My advice: if you decide to visit, do not come on an empty stomach, bring snacks and don’t come on your lunch break because it will be a LONG wait. If this is the standard, then unfortunately I will not recommend this...
