I used to love this place. I live just up the hill and would buy seafood here all the time. I realize the pandemic has severely affect many food retailers but wow what a bunch of overpaid incompetent employees were there yesterday. I am sure they are only getting minimum wage but that is twice as much as they deserve.

First after signalling two employees engaged in socializing that I wanted to buy some seafood, with a nod and a wave, I finally had to speak very loudly and said, "I am sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I am a potential customer and I would like to buy something". It is hard to go on with how many ways this staff was inept. The seafood person had no clue how much to get of an item which would weigh about a pound. Obviously new with no experience. Didn't seem to understand that I did not need eight pounds of ice to cover my purchase when a couple of handfuls would have worked. I had to point that out. The new employee at the till rang up my order incorrectly and I had to point out that they shorted themselves about six bucks. I should have shut up and just walked out with only paying half of the total bill but I am perhaps old school, a.k.a. honest and pointed that out.

Wow, all I can say is what a poorly, incompetently staffed place this is. Oh, and about a third of the shellfish I insisted on paying for was bad.

My family and I have been here a couple times before and the food was great. We visited today and I had ordered 5 items. 2 of the regular cod and fish, a large of the cod and fish, a smoked salmon chowder and an order of fries. We had 2 orders that were immediately put at the window and my name was called. After that we had waited for the other items to be out and had watched other people who had come in AFTER my family and I, pick up their own orders and headed off to eat. I had to go up and ask about the rest of our food. The lady who took my order was very polite. The gentleman who was putting the food out and supposedly calling out peoples names for orders was not. I had asked him about the other food I had order and he threw everything in a container (large order of cod and chips and another container of another order of fries) and then rudely asked for my receipt before giving me the food. He didn’t have an attitude with any other customer who had come up to ask him questions or asked for condiments or utensils. The fries were definitely not fresh and my father had a whole piece of cod that was not fully cooked. Overall subpar and not worth the money to be treated as if we’re a nuisance. They were open until 6 when I stopped in yesterday right around noon. They have a pretty wide selection of stuff, whole crab, giant fish filets. Clams, oysters, shrimp and live lobster. They also have a good amount of Frozen things like shrimp and you know... the typical stuff. The price is a reasonable and the staff is awesome, especially this woman (I feel terrible because I forgot her name), that helped me quickly, answered my questions, very knowledgeable and even helped me solve my little dilemma. I had my kids we were headed fishing probably for 2-3 hours. I was worried the Dungeness crab that I was planning on buying was going to be all gone by the time I returned from fishing. I let the woman know this and she did admit that the crab was going fast but this wonderful woman put together a makeshift cooler with a thick cardboard box and several big plastic bags filled with ice. She made sure that the crab had plenty of ice to keep cool. I was extremely impressed with the amount of advice I had left she was very generous with that I know it's just water but people normally don't go out of their way for things like that so I think they're fantastic and I'm glad I found a new place to go for fresh seafood.
