I should have known when the lady in front of us in line (wanted to speak to the front desk) told me there was hair in her food and wanted a refund that this would be a huge red flag that we should have gone somewhere. I was giving this place the benefit of the doubt since my friend and I had gone here before with our team years ago and had a pleasant experience. We had reservations at 3:45pm but they were not ready to seat anyone as they were slow in service and were also dealing with the previous customer service issue before us.
The entire table was not provided menus and were not aware of prices. There was no way how much they would charge and they were very sneaky about it. Right off the bat we were asked if we wanted sparkling water, yes we ordered it without realizing they would keep bringing more bottles without asking us, constantly filling our cups, and we collectively don't recall there ever being 5 bottled waters totaling $37.50.
My friend's husband requested house wine which was not the same as what our receipt stated: "Body Guard" which apparently was at $56/bottle. 2 people said they heard "$40" yet we were charged $56. This was really suspicious when we reviewed our overall dining experience. Dessert is not included, as an FYI but we learned when we got the check. Not a big deal but the fact there was no information or way to verify any of the items as their website doesn't have pricing either.
My friend's husband presented a $20 off coupon which also was never added to the bill. We had initially requested that our check was split in 2 as we had a party of 7. The waiter took both of our cards. He asked me if I wanted to tip 25% or 20% and I pressed 20% because it wasn't that great of service and I was fixated on the how large the tip amount was and then he said oops it was rang up as 1 whole transaction. When I saw the total was around $100 I thought that it was odd and asked for him to cancel it. He said he could but it would take 2 weeks. We asked for the supervisor, Caroline (had light short hair and glasses), for a voided transaction and she referred us to email corporate. I don't even know if that's her real name because she did not wear a name tag and was very hesitant to provide more information. She did not even try to return the sale or credit me, stating they can't and don't do that. My friend wanted this cancelled because he did not want to tip 20% and did not think this response was professional or right. Also, Caroline provided a business card with the corporate email and a number to call Hannah, this supposed corporate person, but would not provide a direct manager to escalate the situation at the present time meaning I had to write an email to figure this all out once I returned home and was available. She was not willing to provide any other means necessary to assuage the situation nor try to offer any way to compensate for this human made error.
Overall, food was ok for me. Cheesy bread was saltier than I remember. The smoked salmon looked mushy. Lobster bisque was good but not the best. A few of us only ate from the salad bar but Fogo de Chao and Novilhos are significantly better in my opinion. I even asked the server if there was a price difference for those who only ate from the salad bar because a few did not eat red meat/land animals, only seafood, but he was never clear about that. I have recently eaten at Fogo de Chao and was able to strictly eat from the salad bar without being charged an huge amount for items I was not consuming. Everyone else tried the meats, my boyfriend mentioned a few times that the meats were not really rare when the servers stated that these slices were "rare".
I'd never return here again, and I highly suggest that everyone read up on the reviews because I was surprised to see similar fates. Management and staff did not take any responsibility and pawned it off to corporate to deal when. Additionally, the email she provided me seems to be wrong compared to the ones they provided in responses to the YELP...
Read moreWe ate here yesterday for a friends birthday around 6 pm. It was our first dining experience here. Our servers name was Chloe.
Food I'm a pescatarian, my friend- not so much. She loves her meat. We were excited to eat at an establishment that would please us both. I don't tend to get excited about salads. Lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes I'm soooo excited. This salad bar is the salad bar to end all salad bars. You'd be surprised at the number of places that mess up things like green beans, but not this place. I didn't try something that I didn't like. Personally, I'm not a fan of couscous. I tried their couscous, and I ate it and was happy. I would recommend the lobster bisque, the cod with coconut, the fresh mozzarella, and the smoked salmon. They had sushi, but I didn't try it. Sorry guys I was busy eating my body weight in everything else, I had no time for rice.
The meat is cooked at a standard of medium rare. I believe that you can request to have it cooked longer, but don't quote me on that. The servers walk around the establishment with different cuts of meats, so you can pick and choose what you want as they sneak by. The servers kept on trying to cut me meat (probably based on the way that I was looking at the meat, but no, not for me). Per my friend, the meats were moist and perfectly cooked. The filet mignon was the best, and the bacon wrapped pork was delicious. The only misfire was the Parmesan chicken which while perfectly cooked and moist, was a bit too oily. A couple of the servers were eager to hand out their meats, even when the counter was flipped over to red.
Drinks We enjoy a drink or three, there must have been some cosmic powers involved to ensure that we got seated in the bar area. We tried the Rio Sunrise, the Mandrin Crush, the Strawberry Limeade, and finished the evening with an espresso liquor drink. Props to the bar keeps, these drinks were lovely and well balanced. I don't tend to be a fan of overly sweet drinks, in my experience they tend to hide cheap liquor. These drinks were great and had lots of flavor without being super sweet. And lets be honest, liquor and coffee go hand in hand.
Dessert We had the Creme Brulee, now I could be pretentious, and say that it's not the best Creme Brulee that I've ever had, and that I've had better in France and blah blah blah. Guys, I ate the whole thing, and part of my friends. Don't judge me, it was tasty.
Service The service was fantastic, this establishment understands that service with good quality food makes the experience. Our servers name was Chloe S. She was lovey, friendly, and attentive. She explained the whole process of the restaurant to us as we had never been there before, took our multiple drink orders, and very quietly and non-judgmentally removed our dirty plates as we dived in for seconds. In addition, multiple employees came and checked in with us. It didn't come off as annoying, just a very simple: "Hi guys, is everything tasting good? Is there anything else that you need?" Furthermore, the place was clean. There were quite a few employees, some of whom were cleaning up messes as they were happening. Case in point: I was a little messy and spilt some balsamic on the side of the salad bar, there was an employee right behind me with a napkin to clean it up.
Cost/Summary If you're trying to save your pennies, this place is not your you. You get what you pay for. We had great food and great service. I believe that if you're going to do something, do it properly. We ate the food, made multiple drink orders, and had dessert. We left fat, happy, (and in my case, a little drunk). We racked up quite a tab, but we were celebrating, we had a great time, and we'd do it all over again. Thank you for the...
Read moreMy wife and I have been to this location quite a few times. Actually we spent over $800 on our last visit to celebrate my brothers birthday. Service was excellent and the frequency the carvers visited was better than expected. This recent visit on 8-13-2022 we expected the same quality service. We asked for a table for 2 and was put on the waiting list. No big deal, we went to the bar to have a drink while we wait. Ended up getting seated at a table in the bar furthest away from the kitchen. Again, been here many time so no big deal. We got served instant ally with flank steak and sirloin. Awesome. After that it was pretty much a rotation of leg of lamb (both my wife and myself do not like so we passed) and flank steak which we took because we were hungry also it was delicious. Sausage came around a couple times but I do not care much for the sausage at this restaurant. So a total of 3 meats in a matter of 45 minutes. Ended up getting offered bacon wrapped chicken once and pork tenderloin once but we waiting quite a while for it. Asked for some meat to come around by our server but never came around. The manager came around and asked how it was going and I expressed our concerns. He said he would talk to the carvers and adjust our check. We gave up and asked for our check then finally the carver came around with some meat we requested over half an hour ago. Our check came out and it had a whopping 15% taken off, the military discount marked “hero”. We ended up spending $140 eating a minority of flank steak. No filet, no spicy steak, nothing really what people go for. Message in this review is: if they try to sit you in the bar, just order off the menu and don’t try to do the round of meat going around because it probably won’t make it to you and the manager will give you some weak compensation for them not treating you like all other customers. I was extremely upset and would’ve talked to the manager more if my wife didn’t want to get home.
Update: Wanting to give this place a second chance because maybe they were having an off night. Mistake. While being sat we requested medium for the table. We get served the sausage and bacon wrapped chicken first. No problem. The beef comes out and they tell me it’s medium. I grab the cut and it is at best RARE. I mention it to the server and she took it to show the manager. Ok, next meat. Pork ribs. I get one and try it only to find an inch long piece of plastic. I again let my server know. She takes the plastic and show the manager. At no point did they come over and apologize for it and offer to make it right. We finished unsatisfied and asked for our check. No surprise that no compensation was given on our check. We walked out paying full price for some plastic on ribs and meat extremely...
