Stop in last night. Wonderful world at the Mule. Lots of good hard working people at play. Good customer base, drank cleaned up after themselves left Millie the bartender a tip. The place was alive with come as you Tacoma on it's best behavior. It was grand to whitness. The Mule tavern might have to put a bar back in Millie was on point with beer and sandwiches, the poor girl was over ran by the great people of Tacoma. Keep up the good work and I will be stopping by again. 5 stars for everyone. I had a great time. Sam the owner is the real deal. The man has poured his life and soul into this business, so some love Tacoma and bring the world to Tacoma. I sat and had real conversation with a tourest from Germany in visiting family. That the what's in the air at the Mule. End less possible with good friends and family from around the world wanting to enjoy a good American bar. Show the world your beautiful face and come as you are in your home town and be yourself. Tacoma you are a fun and colorful city shin like you have never shined before and bring the world to doors of the Mule tavern, they are the real deal. Good business from the hillbilly and that is me. They treat me fair and serve me fair. I'm a 40 year tax payers and a honorable discharge Navy veteran, and a old man to boot to make way for more treandy business. Yet they welcome and ask my name and shake my hand. Sam is a fair and respectable business man that thinks costumer first, service, and a good time is more important than just looks, and the clothes you wear. He and his staff sees the human being and serves the human condition as well as the beer we all drink. Enjoy the weekend Tacoma, play safe and take care of each other there. I know the Mule tavern will and I got lots of faith in Tacoma as a whole to but us on the map again. Good luck and party...
Read moreThis bar is my “home of bars.” The owner, and all of the staff, are incredibly down to earth people. They’re kind, and make genuine conversation with patrons. I love sharing stories, and the people who go to this bar are a group in themselves. So many wonderful people. The drink selection is awesome, and the bartenders are very talented in their own right. This place is welcoming to every age group and people from every walk of life. Discrimination isn’t tolerated. This place is also great in its atmosphere. I myself tend to get overstimulated by bars with loud music, flashing lights, loud people, etc, and this place is even welcoming to people with sensory issues. People have fun but they don’t get rowdy, the music is always a decent volume, and the decor is low light...
Read moreDive bar vibe with classy cocktails. Great bar for those that don't drink alcohol, they make their own ginger beer and tonic water, which are terrific on their own or mixed in a mock-tail.
Enjoyed sitting out on the front patio and enjoying a cold beverage in the sunshine. There's also a covered back patio area that feels cozy and secluded.
Eclectic mix of people, lgbtqia+ folks, biker dudes on Harley's, frat looking guys in polos, college age kids, all just enjoying a chill laid back spot.
I did not try the food, but it looks like they have simple simple bar food like sandwiches etc. Church Cantina is right across the street if you're...
