I ordered 20 wings in my desired flavor. When I finally got my order, I got into my vehicle and decided to give one a taste. WRONG flavor completely, even though it looked right when they showed it to me. I took the food back inside and politely informed them of their mistake (I was displeased but not rude. I understand mistakes happen.) The guy who took my order tried to tell me that that was what I ordered and he caught an attitude. NO APOLOGY. He took the wings from me and went in the back. When he finally came back up front, he did not even say anything to me. A young lady who observed that I had been there for a while went in the back and told me they were re-making my food. Then a different young man asked me what was wrong and I explained it to him. He said that they could try and rinse the wings off and douse them in the sauce that I originally asked for to fix them. I thought he was making a joke, pulling my leg. I told him that I was told they were already remaking my order. The guy who originally took my order came out with the "freshly cooked, new" order (or so I thought) and showed it to me, told me it was made in the correct flavor now. STILL NO APOLOGY, NOTHING. I took the food and got in the car. Got home and sat down to eat. WHY had they done EXACTLY what the other gentleman said they would do. They attempted to rinse the wrong sauce off of the wings and covered the wings in the sauce I actually ordered. It didn't work, and I could still taste the other sauce, which made the wings disgusting. They should...
Read moreThe fact that I'm rating 1 star for free food should be all you need to know. Apparently the bar is very low for good wings in Tallahassee for this place to be rated as highly as it is. Every time this food shows up buffet style the crinkle fries are cold and hard, not sure how that happens exactly unless they're not hot when they're put on the hotel pan and the lid put on. In 25 years in the restaurant industry, with more than half as a chef or kitchen manager, I've never seen a cold, hard fry in an unvented takeout container unless they were put in cold. Boneless wings are pre breaded and frozen, while not uncommon these are exceptionally bad, especially the lemon pepper, and garlic that seem to have different breading than buffalo because they're almost inedible with how hard the breading is. This is the meal I pass on when it shows up, so do yourself a favor and pass unless your standards are...
Read moreThis is my kind of vibe. I enjoy the community feel of this place, and I'm always up for interpretations of the humble wing. Personally, I'm a flats-man, allowing others to deal with the lesser drums... ;)
The #4 is up my alley, combining the best of Americana street food (a Philly is straight-up street food, folks). This combo is a Philly along with five wings.
There's not really one particular facet of A Town Wings that is outstanding to me. It's a total Gestaalt thing here, were the whole is greater than the parts. It's an experience combining good (comfort) food with good service, good ambiance, and good intangible vibes.
Definitely on the regular rotation roster - I'll put it down for a...
