Some of you who came here looking for vegetarian and vegan food. For you, The Bark is an outstanding restaurant. Some of you who came here are not vegetarian and vegan and maiy be tempted to skip them. Don't! For you, The Bark is also an outstanding restaurant.

They serve brunch on the weekends starting at 11:00 which allows you an opportunity to try both their brunch and regular menus. We had their Tofu Bahn Mi sand which from the regular menu and the Sweet Breaky breakfast biscuit.

The Bahn Mi is their signature dish and it simply exceptional. In addition to the tofu, it comes with all of the traditional Bahn Mi fixings and a not so traditional peanut sauce. But the combination works and it is an incredibly satisfying sandwich.

The Sweet Breaky features a split buttermilk biscuit topped with jam, spinach (normally arugula) and 2 eggs (we chose sunny side up). You may think that jam has no place in this biscuit, but you'd be wrong (IMHO). The total combination is sublime and makes for one of the tastiest breakfast dishes you'll find anywhere. I was interested in the vegetarian sausage gravy, made from house-made vegetarian sausage, so I ordered a side of it. Wow! It was amazing, so much so that I was eating straight from the bowl.

Did I mention that they serve alcohol? My vegan Bloody Mary was perfect (as were the mimosas I've had in the past).

You will leave a happy camper when you eat...

Most of the time the food here is pretty decent. Yeah the vegetables might be wilted, yeah the service might be hit or miss, but overall for a dive bar they usually serve pretty good vegan food.

This last visit however was pitiful. Ordered my food ahead of time and waited a bit after I got there. The cashier was rude to me but thats pretty typical for me if its not one of the nicer cashiers that I see regularly. I ordered two tofu bahn mi sandwiches.

I took both sandwiches out, and they absolutely REEKED of cigarettes. Before I even unwrapped them! Both of the sandwiches had an overwhelming cigarette odor all over them and were inedible.

I've smoked cigarettes. I've ordered from restauraunts with people that I know chain-smoke but I never experienced something like this before.

Its clear that employees aren't washing their hands between cigarette breaks which is extremely unsanitary. The place is pretty dirty as-is but I was hoping they at least washed their hands or used gloves regularly but I guess they don't.

I've forgiven the bark for a few mistakes in the past like bugs and unwarranted rudeness but this pretty much made me cut them out of my rotation. Sad to see such wasted potential in a place

Check out Sweet Pea! They've improved and provide consistent service lately. Employees...

I used to love the bark. Matter of fact I have my vegan food business big belly vegan and the bar was a part of my Tallahassee vegan festival last year so whenever I come into town, I always try to support the bark and go get vegan food from there well today I ordered a awesome mushroom sandwich and some fries via DoorDash and it only took me about maybe 7 to 10 minutes to get there by the time I went to go pick up my order the fries or ice cold so I asked the gay guy with the long hair behind the counter For fresh fries then he comes and give me some excuse about how it’s a DoorDash order and you can’t expect the fries would be fresh before he went back there to give me fresh fries, but when he returned, he were out of fries that he had refried in the grease and gave back to me. I made a complaint the DoorDash and got my refund for those fries, but I’m telling you right now do not eat from the bark because as as well as I thought they used to be, they are horrible and I would never recommend anybody to go there for somebody to ref fry some fries because they’re too lazy to...

Wow! Very interesting place! I walked in for the first time tonight very spur of the moment. I was immediately greeted with the very detailed mural and what sounded like underground hiphop music. The crowd here seems very young, maybe early college age but the atmosphere was welcoming. The staff was friendly and informed me the entire menu was vegan based which I thought was pretty great. He gave me nice recommendations. The young people played games in the relaxed atmosphere after I ordered while I waited on my food. It was honestly a very slow wait so if someone is in a hurry and expecting fast food then they might want to skip it. Or if they're expecting meat. But my meal was well worth the wait and filled me up greatly! It didn't even look vegan even though I knew it was. My eyes were fooled and taste buds satisfied. I read there's karaoke every week so I will definitely try to be back to check that out! Pretty pleased!

Vegetarians galore, you’ll want to eat ‘til you’re sore 😂 Time and time again, I am absolutely blown away by the attention to detail, amazing and diverse menu options, and how amazing the barks recipes are. Not only that, the staff are well trained, attentive, fast, and they keep the restaurant impeccably clean. I had to make this post tonight because the Philly that I ordered came out absolutely delicious to all six senses!! The atmosphere is friendly to everyone. Next to my Oyster City Mill Pond fresh from draft, ah, a beautiful sight to behold. I love the bark so much. Visiting vegetarians, don’t sleep on this place. Even if you’re not vegetarian you must visit and try something like the beet burger(it’s actually a lentil burger but.. don’t get hung up on that!) Karaoke Wednesdays and ample events and performances. One of the coolest places in Tallahassee.

I love this place. I’ve been quite a few times and I’ve never had a bad meal. Also been to a couple shows here and the atmosphere is great. Service is always good and friendly. I love the regular menu and brunch menu and they have a great Bloody Mary. I usually like to try their specials and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant for vegetarians and vegans as well as anyone looking for something a little less meaty but in a familiar form. Pictured is the last meal I had, “catfish” and grits special (mushrooms are magic!), biscuits and gravy bowl, one of the many local beers they have available, and the Bloody Mary!
