By far the worst fast food location I’ve ever been through, and I shouldn’t have given them as many chances as I did. They were close to my work, however, so I was probably a bit more patient than I should have been.
On at least two occasions, I have pulled up to the drive thru to have no response; I always use the Wendy’s in-app ordering though, and they never disable the drive thru pick-up option on their app during these extremely frequent closing times. So I have no way of knowing that their drive through will be closed. These drive thru closing times are extremely unpredictable, but appear to be mostly based around breakfast, lunch, and dinner shift changes. I’ve experienced it around 5:30 pm and 1:00-3:00 pm. But it’s a FAST FOOD place, where people generally are running by to grab a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner through the drive thru. So they close at the drive thru at what should be their busiest times, and I’ve seen three or four cars backed up to a no-response speaker. On a third occasion, someone at least responded to the drive-thru to tell me in was closed, and I needed to walk in to pickup the order; and while I was annoyed, I was able to.
On another day, they had run out of an item in my mobile order, and the employee was curt, telling me I’d have to message the app for a refund if I wanted my money back; but their app doesn’t let you just easily request a refund, they have limited customer service hours, and I never did receive compensation. It was only a 2 dollar item, and I let it slide when I shouldn’t have. At other Wendy’s locations and similar businesses, I’ve had staff offer me a replacement item of similar value, such as a cookie, extra nuggets, a small fry, etcetera, when they can’t fulfill my entire order, so I don’t know why staff at this location are not trained to better handle situations like these.
Today was my last straw, however, as trying to go by around 3:00pm to pick up an in-app order for the drive thru had someone respond that the drive thru was closed, and they were then condescending and rude when I mentioned I had ordered in the app to pick up through drive thru; except I wasn’t capable of easily walking into the lobby because of a recent ankle sprain. That’s why I placed an order, which was accepted by the app, for pickup in drive thru - I needed to pick up in drive-thru. I did not pick up this order, and thankfully was able to cancel in the app before it registered my arrival. So disrespectful to any potentially injured, disabled, or elderly customers. I understand needing to close a drive-thru (sometimes at least, the rate this location closes their drive thru tells me they are extremely poorly managed); but don’t accept drive-thru orders if you can’t fulfill them the way a customer may need.
If they are going to constantly close their drive thru, they need to stop accepting in-app orders for the drive thru. I’ve been to other Wendy’s locations and other fast food places that will sometimes disable the in-app drive thru option when they need to close the window.
TL;DR: Horribly managed location with rude, poorly trained employees. If you want Wendy’s, the Apalachee location seems to be better managed. If you are on N. Monroe, go to Culver’s, Arby’s, just anywhere but here. I’ll never patronize this location again, and I regret every second chance I gave them. Shame on me for hoping they could change...
Read moreHands down the worst experience ever. I drive for a ride share program UBER. Upon arrival there was literally one car at the drive thru order board. So, I politely proceeded to the pick up window. After waiting at window for roughly 10 minutes this young guy looks at me but didn't even acknowledge my presence this is my first issue. When he finally opened the window I explained I was an UBER driver and had two orders to pick up over his shoulder stood his manager if I knew her name I would provide it never the less she was the only elder white woman in the establishment. She asked instead of preparing my orders did I skip line? I said excuse me, you only had one car at your order board so no I didn't technically skip anyone. She says oh well you did and your order has not been prepared you'll need to pull up remind you I already was waiting at the window for 10 mins. So, while still waiting I proceed to call UBER support and explained the situation to them. UBER calls the store to verify this information this same white woman comes out the door SCREAMING mind you no order in hand and was like did you call UBER support? I said yes ma'am UBER support heard her and was like you should just cancel these orders needless to say that's exactly what I did. The date was 09/25 at roughly 10:30pm-10:45pm EST. I hate that I'm saying this but she doesn't deserve her job. Especially, not a manager position. I am...
Read moreThis is not the first time this has happened to me at this location!!!
I placed a mobile order on the Wendy's app as I always do for convenience purposes; and as walked over to pick up my food I was asked for my name of course. After I gave my name to the employee (Alonzo i believe, short bald black dude working front counter), I was asked to show him my order. I explained to him that this is not possible, because after you place the order it only shows you the pick up screen.
He then insisted that I did not pay for my food, and acted as if he was not going to give me the food that I PAID FOR!! I then explained that you have to pay for the food to sent in the order via mobile app, read off exactly what was on my order down to each sauce, showed him my transaction history, and explained the situation before he finally gave over my food after about 3-5 minutes of confrontation! Which he did with an attitude, telling me if this happened again I would not be able to receive my food!
This is ridiculous and shameful that you are badgering me because you do not know how to use the app of the place of which YOU ARE EMPLOYED!!!
This employee definitely seemed incompetent of completing his job responsibilities or either just wanted to give me a hard time, either way this was the worst experience I have had at any Wendy's; this...
